Formerly Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, we have evolved into ImpactLife. New name. Same mission. We're an independent, non-profit, community blood center, providing blood products to more than 120 hospitals. Together we change the world.
We’re a 501(c)3 nonprofit, independent, community blood center, founded in 1974 in Davenport, Iowa. In addition to its headquarters, the Blood Center has regional distribution hubs in central Illinois (Peoria, Illinois and Springfield, Illinois), eastern Illinois (Urbana, Illinois); southeastern Iowa (Ottumwa, Iowa), the St. Louis region (Earth City, Missouri) and southern Wisconsin (Madison, Wisconsin). ImpactLife collects blood at 19 fixed site donor centers and at more than 5,000 mobile blood drives held each year.

We were proud to welcome Phlebotomy students from Midwest Technical Institute-Springfield at our recent blood drive, where they observed the life-saving work of our dedicated team. Special recognition to Wendie Haley, Blood Drive Coordinator and Phlebotomy Program Director at MTI, for mentoring these future healthcare professionals and inspiring them to make a difference in their communities. These students are learning what it means to not just draw blood—but to be part of something bigger.

Did you know that organ donors can save up to eight lives? April is Donate Life month, and today we partnered up with our friends at the @Iowa Donor Network to spread the word by hosting a press conference at our headquarters. We heard from an organ recipient, Melissa, and the brother of an organ donor, Tom, about how the impact it made on their lives, and Melissa discussed how blood donors kept her alive during treatment & surgery.
