I was pleased to attend the Impact A Hero “Cornerstones of Leadership” Leadership Academy graduation recently. Congratulations to each of the 14 veterans who committed their time during 8 weeks, more than 32 hours, to achieve this recognition. During this course, Rick Miller Trevanion Group, Capt USN (Ret.), presented the curriculum focused on leadership and personal development, including Conflict Resolution and Communication Skills, Understanding Leadership vs Management, and the role of Emotional Intelligence. Each participant presented a personal Leader Development Action Plan, and all were inspiring! Thank you to Houston Community College, Stafford Campus, for hosting this Bachelor’s Degree level program, and to Impact A Hero's Christina Resendez for the dedicated administrative support!

The Impact A Hero Leadership and Personal Growth Workshops have been valuable opportunities and resources for our heroes. Only 1% of our population serves in the armed forces, carrying the load for all of us to live a life of freedom. For many, this armed forces volunteer service comes with experience and trauma that may be challenging to overcome. These silent wounds are met with care and compassion thanks to the professional and skilled facilitators we trust and vet to run our programs. The participants feel at ease to share in a safe, veteran-connected environment provided by Impact A Hero. Our workshops include: Emotional Intelligence, Leadership Academy, Dare to Lead, Heroic Self-Care Retreat, Camp Impact, and more. Please support the Impact A Hero Mission by supporting our annual Golf Tournament, scheduled for Wednesday, May 14th, at BlackHorse Golf in Houston. Enjoy a round of golf with friends and colleagues, or perhaps you will consider a donation to support a team of veterans. Thank you!

National Vietnam War Veterans Day will honor those who served. Plan to attend a remembrance and commemoration on Friday, March 28th, 2025, at Veterans Memorial Park in Houston, with featured guest speaker Colonel Robin P. Ritchie, U.S. Army, retired. Col Ritchie commanded the last U.S. Infantry company on the Vietnam DMZ. He will have an inspirational message to share. Col Ritchie has more than twenty-seven years of service in both the active and reserve components of the U.S. Army. Impact A Hero honored Col Ritchie during our annual Impact A Hero Legacy of Freedom Gala, Hall of Fame Class 2023. Thank you, Col Ritchie, for your service, as we honor all who served in the Vietnam War. #impactahero Robin Ritchie
