We're deeply saddened by the recent passing of Mark A. Stewart and we're inspired by his legacy of success that continues to impact transportation throughout the Ohio Valley region and beyond. For nearly 35 years, he led TRANSInternational Systems, a Worthington, Ohio-based trucking and logistics company, until it was acquired by IMC in 2019. In fact, several of his family members still carry on his tradition of success today. Mark's two sons Jason Stewart and Jared Stewart, as well as his daughter in law, Sandy Stewart, all work at IMC. His commitment to our industry, his family, TRANSInternational and IMC, all played a part in setting up the region and the drayage industry for success. IMC chairman, Mark H. George, agrees that Mark Stewart's career laid a foundation that the IMC Ohio Valley team stands on to this day. "Mark Stewart put a lot of trust and confidence in me and IMC by allowing us to take his life’s work, family members and management team from TRANSInternational into IMC Logistics. I will forever be grateful for Mark’s trust and confidence in me. TRANSInternational and the team members that came on board with IMC have been the most meaningful acquisition in the history of IMC Logistics which demonstrates the kind of leader Mark Stewart was in the international drayage industry." After retirement, Mark Stewart noted, "We sold TRANSInternational to a wonderful company -- IMC -- that has similar family values to carry the torch forward. Many thanks to all associates, customers, and friends that made the past 35 years so rewarding." Join us in thoughts and prayers for all who were lucky enough to call Mark a friend, family member or coworker. We will continue to honor his memory by building upon his tradition of excellence in life at home and at work.
