About us
Illinois Farm Bureau® is a membership organization controlled by farmers who join IFB® through their county Farm Bureau. There are 95 county organizations in Illinois. IFB is a not for profit corporation. IFB’s legal name is the Illinois Agricultural Association which was founded in 1916 by a group of farmers who met at the University of Illinois to discuss the need for education, better information, and more effective farming practices. Today, IFB represents two out of three Illinois farmers. Illinois Farm Bureau: • Shares the farmer’s story to consumers. • Updates members on new technology and information that impacts agriculture. • Represents farmers in local, state, and national legislative & political activities. • Provides marketing and education services to help IFB members improve their net farm income. Illinois Farm Bureau is a member of the American Farm Bureau Federation®, a national organization of farmers and ranchers including Farm Bureaus in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, and is responsible for Farm Bureau® membership and programs within Illinois. Illinois Farm Bureau® programs and services are available only to Farm Bureau® members within Illinois. FARM BUREAU® and FB® are registered service marks owned by the American Farm Bureau Federation. Our members aren’t just voices in the crowd, they’re the faces of agriculture. Real farmers. Real stories. And last week, they took those stories straight to D.C. We want to thank USDA Secretary Rollins for taking the time to meet face to face with Illinois Farm Bureau members!

Update! Director of National Legislation, Ryan Whitehouse, puts a cap on #L2DC! 🏛️ IFB members hit the ground running making sure ag’s priorities were front and center in D.C. The team is headed home, but the conversation doesn’t stop here. Be sure to ask your members who participated and county directors about the trip and what it means for Illinois farmers.

Day #2 of Leaders to Washington! We HIT the Hill, asked tough questions, and we were heard. IFB members met with their representatives- including Eric Sorensen, Darin LaHood, Lauren Underwood, Mike Bost, Marry Miller, and Brad Schneider and had the opportunity to meet with Senators Durbin and Senator Duckworth. We also engaged with the EPA and House Ag Committee staff. To top it off, one of the biggest moments of the day: IFB members had the chance to ask questions directly to USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins and make our voices heard! We want to thank everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to meet with us yesterday. Your time and attention made a real impact, and we truly felt heard.

Day one of Leaders to Washington kicked off with BIG conversations. 16 farmers from McHenry County to Jackson County and everywhere in between ✈️ brought their stories straight to the Administration during a meeting with the White House Office of Public Liaison. They provided feedback and gained key insights from USDA offices, including FSA and Foreign Ag Services, and connected with newly appointed RMA Admin Pat Swanson. The day wrapped up at the Mexican Embassy. And they’re just getting started! Stay tuned as they take Capitol Hill!
