W3C Web of Things (WoT) Plugfest in Munich – Conclusion What is a WoT Plugfest? * Software providers share “Thing Descriptions” (TDs) to create interoperable connections. * TDs include supported protocols,  required security, and data formats. * A client consumes a TD in order to know how to connect to a device. * TDs are kept in a common repository where al providers can      * Publish their TDs     * Access other providers TDs. * Providers create connections using TDs and demonstrate interoperability. Plugfest Outcome – our Conexxus based team (Armor Safe and Ignite Retail Technology) achieved their initial goal and three unplanned additional goals!  They accomplished their additional goals by using the repository TDs to create connections to new devices and to support additional features. Here’s what happened… Initial condition – Armor Safe published a TD the TD repository.  Initial goal – Ignite Command Center Controller to consume Safe TD to read status information. ✓ Goal Achieved Additional goal 1 – the Controller used the Safe status to control a three state LED     * Red – invalid PIN     * Green – cash operation in progress     * Blue – cash operation completed ✓ Goal Achieved Additional goal 2 – the Controller posts completed Safe Transactions to the Archeion Block Chain. ✓ Goal Achieved Additional goal 3 – the Controller posts product delivery information to a Siemens test Delivery Robot. ✓ Goal Achieved Celebration!  We had a wonderful traditional Bavarian Dinner at the Garchinger Augustiner with all the trimmings, especially Beer!
