In Fragile, Conflict, and Violent (#FCV) situations, women are more than victims: they are agents of change. The World Bank is committed to enabling women’s access to economic opportunities and tackling the root causes of conflict. By 2024, 95% of World Bank-financed operations used gender analysis to address employment barriers. In FY24, nearly $3B in IDA funding and over $1B in IBRD funding were committed to gender interventions in FCS. 👉 Would you like to learn more about how the World Bank is addressing women’s access to jobs in FCS settings? On behalf of Mohamed Gouled, VP of Industries, IFC. “It was a pleasure to deliver the opening remarks yesterday at the 2025 Global Private Capital Conference, organized by the Global Private Capital Association in partnership with IFC - International Finance Corporation. Emerging economies are vibrant centers of innovation and growth. However, to fully realize their potential, they require substantial and sustained capital flows. IFC continues to increase its support, with a record $56 billion committed in fiscal year 2024 to private companies and financial institutions in these regions. We still need to do more, with the private sector championing innovation and investing in emerging markets with an emphasis on sustainable growth. The right allocation of capital can open new markets, drive industrialization and create jobs. Jobs are the most reliable pathway out of poverty, providing income, dignity, and economic opportunity. I would like to thank the organizers for putting together this important event. The annual GPC Conference brings together global investors, dealmakers, entrepreneurs, and development finance leaders to explore trends, opportunities, and challenges in private equity, private debt, and venture capital in emerging markets." #GPCA #GPCC25 #PrivateCapital #PE #VentureCapital #VC #EmergingMarkets #Investment #ImpactInvesting Farid Fezoua, Nicholas Vickery, Carlos Mayorga, Mohamed Eissa, Hoi Ying So
