As vice president of the Animal Rescue Team for Humane World for Animals, Adam Parascandola oversees our global disaster response and animal cruelty work. Two big accomplishments that stand out for him include assisting the Department of Justice in shutting down a Virginia facility breeding beagles for lab testing—rescuing over 4,000 dogs—and leading wildfire rescue efforts on Kangaroo Island, saving over 100 koalas. Adam has also assisted in shutting down 18 dog meat farms in South Korea, saving more than 2,500 dogs from slaughter. “I love my job. There is something new and different every day but all of our work ultimately helps to make the world a better place for animals.”

The Environmental Protection Agency last week that they will reinstate a plan to phase out animal testing on mammals and prioritize non-animal alternatives for chemical and pesticide safety assessments. https://lnkd.in/evdrzd69

We’re making progress in our decades long fight to protect seals! 💪 Our campaign has reduced the value of the commercial seal hunt, the number of sealers participating in the hunt AND the number of seals killed each year by more than 90%, saving more than 5 MILLION baby seals from a horrible fate.
