We speak of community often and that’s because serving our community is an important part of our mission as a nonprofit hospice. When you see us out and about at health fairs, community centers or maybe a senior expo, you might learn: • What IS hospice and what do I need to know? • How do I prepare myself and my family for end-of-life care? • About available bereavement services If you’d like us to bring this information to YOUR community, please contact our community engagement coordinator at 713-HOSPICE (713-467-7423). #community #mission #nonprofit #nonprofithospice #hospice #hospicecare #hospicesupport #hospicelife #houstonhospice

Houston Hospice is a nonprofit hospice providing quality, end-of-life care to patients and families in Southeast Texas.
About us
Houston Hospice is Greater Houston's oldest, largest, independent, nonprofit hospice. Founded in 1980, we are a leader in the hospice care industry and provide services to patients and families of all ages and ethnicities. Headquartered in the Texas Medical Center, Houston Hospice serves 13 counties across Texas and includes: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Jackson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Waller, and Wharton. We believe no one should live in pain or in fear of being alone. Teams of physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, counselors and trained volunteers provide physical, emotional and spiritual support in homes, assisted living community, and in our Margaret Cullen Marshall Hospice Care Center located in the Texas Medical Center. Teams work with primary care physicians, patients and families to identify goals and create a unique plan of care for each patient. We offer educated counsel and compassionate support and bereavement counseling to loved ones and family members. Houston Hospice is an in-network provider for most insurance companies and is licensed by Medicare and Medicaid. Houston Hospice is a member of the Texas Medical Center, Texas Non-Profit Hospice Alliance and the Texas New Mexico Hospice Organization. Houston Hospice is accredited by the National Institute for Jewish Hospice and by Community Health Accreditation Program, Inc (CHAP). CHAP accreditation publicly certifies that an organization has voluntarily met the highest standards of excellence for home and/or community-based health care.

Yes! We are called Houston Hospice – but don’t let our name fool you! We service 13 counties in Southeast Texas, making us the largest nonprofit hospice organization in the region. Since 1980, Houston Hospice has cared for generations of families regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, diagnosis, belief system or financial situation when it comes to end-of-life care. As the city’s only nonprofit hospice organization with a stand-alone inpatient unit in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, we are uniquely qualified to offer holistic care for the entire family and bridge a gap for needs that often go unmet. Our teams travel the region and visit patients in their homes – or in the place they call home. Call us if we can answer any questions you or your family may have about hospice care. 713-467-7423. #southeasttexas #nonprofithospice #hospice #hospicecare #houstonhospice

There is a lot of grief in hospice, this is true. However, we are also lucky enough to help many people through their grief as part of our bereavement program, which is one of the most important services we offer at Houston Hospice. We provide one-on-one counseling or group classes and are here to support YOU. We also can refer you to other local resources or even out-of-state resources, if needed. If you have questions – or just want to talk – please contact our bereavement team today at 713-677-7155. #grief #bereavement #endoflife #hospice #hospicecare #hospicelife #houstonhospice
