The Career and Technical Education (CTE) program at Hopkins High School is preparing students for the future with hands-on experiences and industry connections with four pathways: technology education, health sciences, business, and family and consumer sciences. Students are gaining real-world skills that will set them up for post-secondary success whether they choose college, trade school, or go straight into the workforce. Fourteen Hopkins teachers have been nominated for the 2025 Minnesota Teacher of the Year Award! These extraordinary teachers are among 142 candidates nominated across the state. A panel of leaders in the fields of education, business, government, nonprofit and philanthropy will read candidates' portfolios over the coming weeks, narrowing the field to a group of semifinalists. In March, the panel will review additional materials to select the finalists. The winner will be announced at the Minnesota Teacher of the Year banquet on May 4. Congratulations to these talented Royal educators!

Hopkins High School ProStart students showcased their culinary talents on Jan. 22 at the Stars of the Future event! The students joined 14 ProStart teams from across the state to help cater more than 200 people at the fundraiser, hosted by the Hospitality Minnesota Educational Foundation. Our Hopkins team made braised pork with red cabbage, citrus slaw and cilantro lime crema. The appetizer was crafted with guidance from Marc Paavola of Bear Cave Brewing. We can't wait to see what our future chefs create in the future!
