Hills For Everyone remains concerned about staffing cuts and other impacts to our federally protected lands. There are known consequences to the landscape when staff shortages exist. ☎️If you care about public lands, call or email your federal elected officials. Tell them to defend public lands, rehire staff, and reinstate budgets. ➡️Congressional Leaders: bit.ly/Federal-Reps ➡️Senators: bit.ly/US-Senators 📢Attend the April 19th Rally and focus your message on "Hands Off Our Public Lands!"

We've waited until today to share the news that dinosaur tracks were discovered in Turnbull Canyon recently. Apparently, recent rains uncovered the three-toed prints of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Can you imagine a T-Rex in our hills? One more reason to not hike alone. #AprilFoolsDay #DinosaurJokes

Hills For Everyone is concerned about proposed rollback of two National Monuments in California. Call your federal representatives and ask them to defend public lands because a threat to public lands anywhere is a threat to public lands everywhere. ☎️If you care about National Monuments or the Wildlife Corridor, call or email your federal elected officials. Tell them to defend National Monuments and maintain their status. ➡️Congressional Leaders: bit.ly/Federal-Reps ➡️Senators: bit.ly/US-Senators

Thursday, March 13 is the next lunar eclipse—when the Earth's shadow falls on the moon. Weather permitting, the eclipse can be seen when it starts at 8:57 PM. Totality occurs between 11:26 PM and 12:31 AM (Friday, March 14). The moon will turn a blood red color near or when the coverage is complete (11:58 PM). The reddish color is caused by the Earth's atmosphere which acts like a lens and preferentially directs red and orange light onto the lunar surface.
