HIGHSPIN at RTR Conference 2025! The RTR Conference 2025 was held in Brussels from 11 to 13 February, organised by 2Zero , ERTRAC - European Road Transport Research Advisory Council, CCAM Association and the European Commission. The conference, a key event for European road transport research, brought together experts, institutions and stakeholders to discuss innovations in EU-funded projects. In particular, on 13 February, Michele De Gennaro from AIT Austrian Institute of Technology presented HIGHSPIN, illustrating how our project aims to develop advanced materials and modules for next-generation batteries (3b high-voltage spinel LNMO||Si/C). The goal is to combine high performance, safety and sustainability, ensuring a fast path to industrialisation. It was an important opportunity for discussion and exchange with the research and industry community, contributing to the debate on future mobility technologies. I had a fantastic time attending the direct recycling conference in Wurzburg, organized by the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC. I am also delighted that one of the poster prizes recognized my work on the direct recycling of LNMO. I learned so much from all my colleagues from European and North American institutions working to make direct battery recycling a reality. It was inspiring to see how, from academia and industry, we all want to contribute to our race to make battery production more sustainable every day. Thank the HighSpin Project for funding my studies and my center, CIC energiGUNE, where I performed my research.
Congrats to our two poster prizes 🏆🏆 at the Conference on Battery Direct Recycling Sara Li Deuso from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg *Magnetic supraparticles as identifier in single-layer Lithium-ion battery pouch cells* Stiven López Guzmán from CIC energiGUNE *Direct Recycling of Battery Sraps using different separation techniques* Thank you both for your interesting posters!

Wich one would you choose? #Gasoline vs. #Electric Vehicles: Understanding the differences 🔋🚗 As the industry rapidly evolves, the debate between gasoline and electric vehicles continues to spark interest. Both technologies have their unique advantages and limitations, and understanding these differences is crucial for consumers, manufacturers, and policymakers. The final choice depends on individual preferences, driving habits, and environmental considerations. As technology advances and infrastructure improves, electric vehicles are becoming more accessible for a broader range of consumers. Embracing both technologies' benefits can lead us to a more sustainable and efficient future in transportation. #AutomotiveInnovation #ElectricVehicles #GasolineVehicles #SustainableMobility #FutureOfTransportation #EVs #HybridTechnology

🤝 We would like to introduce the fifth key #partner of the Highspin #project: sensichips 🔎 Let’s learn more about our #partner! Sensichips' technology achieves superior chemical recognition by combining high sensitivity with high selectivity with the incorporation of new, rugged synthetic receptor materials. The technology will be packaged into elementary sensors to microchip arrays. ❗ In the Highspin #project, Sensichips will support the module design for the integration of its sensor/CMU technology and will propose an architecture of a monitoring gateway between the CMUs and aircraft systems connecting to the module. Moreover Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives and Sensichip will design the electrical interconnect parts respectively for power delivery and sensing, with support by Saft. What is a Circular Economy ? 🔄🌿 In HighSpin, we believe in a #future where resources are used efficiently and waste is minimized. This vision is embodied in the concept of a #circular #economy. By closing the loop and ensuring that each stage of the battery lifecycle – from production to recycling – is as sustainable as possible, we can significantly reduce environmental impact and foster a greener, more resilient future. This circular economy approach not only conserves resources but also promotes #innovation and #responsibility within the #industry.
