🦷✨ Supporting the next generation of veterinarians—one hands-on experience at a time! ✨🦷 For the third year in a row, we’ve partnered with Midmark Corporation and Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine to provide an immersive, dental-focused externship for DVM students. This program gives Auburn externs essential skills in veterinary dentistry, starting with expert-led training from board-certified veterinary dentists.   After an intensive week learning how to communicate the value of dental care with clients, evaluate dental x-rays and perform surgical extractions, students put their knowledge into action at Heartland practices—treating real patients under the guidance of our experienced teams. And beyond dentistry, they even got to assist with a cystotomy and a cryptorchid neuter, further expanding their surgical experience!   A huge thank you to Midmark, Auburn University, and our practices for helping us invest in the future of veterinary medicine. The theme of last week was California Connections! We kicked things off by hosting five amazing veterinary students from across the country at our ✈️ Destination Heartland 🌎 event in Sacramento, where we explored the power of hands-on mentorship, uncovered our workplace conflict and communication types, and enjoyed a relaxing winery dinner followed by an exciting basketball game—truly showcasing the work-life balance we value at Heartland. Next, we made our first trip to the UC Davis campus for SAVMA, where we were charmed by the enthusiastic students we met! They unleashed their creativity building their own keychains and had a blast “adopting” our balloon animals. We loved connecting with each and every one of them and learning about their passions, goals, and what excites them most about their future in veterinary medicine.  #vetmed #veterinarymedicine #futureveterinarians #creatingconnections

Last week in Orlando, we hosted our Annual Heartland Leadership Summit, bringing together practice leaders from across the country to collaborate, be inspired, and celebrate their amazing accomplishments. Our theme was “The Heart of the Community”, putting a spotlight not only on the ways that our practices show up and support their local communities, but also the ways they inspire each other and lead the future of veterinary care. Last weekend we were in Texas at the National Veterinary Business Management Association (VBMA) Meeting! One year ago this month, we achieved an exciting milestone: the opening of our very first de novo veterinary practice! 🌟 What is a de novo practice? It’s a practice built from the ground up, bringing the unique dreams and goals of our Managing DVMs, and the communities they serve, to life. 🐾 Since then, we’ve opened two more.
