A movement for healthy, just & sustainable food environments in Europe
About us
Healthy Food Healthy Planet (HFHP) is a movement of civil society and funders committed to a transition to healthy, just and sustainable food system, starting with rebalancing animal-source foods. European CSOs and funders started the initiative in 2020 based on a sense of urgency that without large-scale transformation, it will be impossible to meet international climate goals and the SDGs.

🥝 How do we get to a different food system? 🙌 We were proud to support TABLE's collective exploration of the politics and economics of food system transformation. Over two days, their workshop brought together voices from across the food system, from civil society and academia, policy, business and community engagement, to imagine a better food future and how we might get there. 📃 From market-led to state-led to bottom-up approaches, we explored bold visions of the future, and found surprising areas of alignment. The newly published report captures the richness of those conversations. Well worth a read below! 👇
What happens when you bring together people with very different visions of the future of our food systems? Check out this summary of our latest report "Tomorrow on the Table: The politics and economics of food systems transformation". Find the full report here: https://lnkd.in/g26M92J4

🌍 Why do we need to empower workers in the supply chain? Food justice isn’t just about the products we consume—it’s about the workers behind the scenes. Too many workers in food supply chains face poor wages, unsafe conditions, and lack of power. This is a systemic issue that needs to be addressed. Led by Ethical Consumer Magazine and in cooperation with SAT Almeria, Worker-driven Social Responsibility Network, Coalition of Immokalee Workers, Focus On Labour Exploitation (FLEX), the Workers-driven Social Responsibility (WSR) model is tackling these problems by empowering workers to define their own code of conduct and create enforceable protections. Originally tested in the U.S., WSR is now expanding to Europe’s fishing and fresh produce industries, striving for a fairer and more sustainable food system. #WorkerRights #SocialResponsibility #FairFood

🌍 We're proud to support the Food Voices Coalition leading the charge for healthier, more sustainable, and just food systems across Europe. Bringing together Feedback EU, Réseau Action Climat (France), Alliance pour les Transitions Agricoles et Alimentaires ALTAA (France), Federación de Consumidores y Usuarios CECU (Spain), Associazione Terra Viva! (Italy), Green REV Institute (Poland), and Feedback (UK), this campaign amplifies the voices of those most affected by systemic failures in the food system. Over 19 months, the coalition is working directly with citizens across six European countries to raise awareness and demand accountability from the retail sector. Their goal: to promote food environments that prioritise health, sustainability, and fairness at local, regional, national, and EU levels. Together, we can drive the change our food systems urgently need. 🌱 #SustainableFood #FoodJustice #RetailAccountability #HealthyFoodSystems
