Today, we celebrate International Account Manager Teresa Irvin and her outstanding milestone — 20 years of employment! Here’s what she shared in response to our fast break questions: Q: Looking back, what has been the most defining moment of your HCL® journey?  A: I honestly cannot say that there is only one defining moment over the past 20 years. I have been given many opportunities and explored many different avenues, each with the support needed to succeed in them. I will say though, if I must pick a moment, a specific memory, it would be attending my first HCL® banquet. It was so nicely prepared; everything was charming, until Gary Sharpe was throwing a rubber chicken at me (as part of the traditional banquet rubber chicken toss)! No one can prepare you for that in your work career, and I still chuckle when it comes to mind. What a wonderful 20 years!   Q: What career goal would you like to achieve in the next five years?  A: I hope to stay here for many years to come. I cannot see me just taking it easy because I’m almost a senior 😊. I am currently taking Curry Blake’s course and am thinking about a part-time retirement career in animal massage therapy.   Q: What’s a hobby or passion outside of work that brings you joy? A: Spending time with my family is my biggest joy in life! I am learning the ins and outs of container gardening. Painting, which I didn’t know I could do until Covid boredom hit, is another one of my hobbies. I enjoy most anything outside, and I dabble in carpentry. Yes, I have a lot of Tim-the-Tool-Man blood in me! Caroline Keklak, Senior Customer Service Supervisor, said Teresa takes great care of our International accounts. “She fosters relationships, manages the time zones and particular needs. Today, we’re celebrating Courtney Schaffer, Sales Development Specialist, and her impressive 10-year employment anniversary! We caught up with her to learn more about what motivates her. Here’s what she shared: Q: What has been your most memorable moment at HCL® so far? A: Without a doubt, traveling with the team to ASHP in 2023. Witnessing many departments and co-workers put all their time, heart and effort into the show was amazing! Customers would come up to the booth and be excited to learn about a new product, put a name with a face and have pictures taken with the catalog cover (or the chickens!). Q: What’s a hobby or passion outside of work that brings you joy? A: I like to hike the trails at Columbus Metro Parks, Ohio State Parks and go camping with my husband, Trent, and kiddo, Jake. I also am a cat lady and like to be a homebody on the weekend with my kitties, Luna, Bellatrix and Ginny Bean, who are all rescues.   Q: Who inspires you to be the best version of yourself? A: My hubs and my kiddo. They keep me motivated every single day, they keep me going and keep me laughing when I need it. They are my happy place. We’re grateful for Courtney’s dedication and the enthusiasm she brings to our team. Join us in congratulating her on this milestone achievement! 

The word is out — we love a fun challenge! Last month, we had a blast completing a customer request asking us to draw a fish on the outside of the package. Soon after, we received instructions from another customer asking us to draw a puppy on their shipping box. Of course, we couldn’t resist. Jia Jun Wilbanks, an eighth grader at Southeastern Middle School, is redefining what it means to overcome obstacles. Born with spina bifida, he faces mobility challenges and, until recently, believed traditional sports with his classmates were out of reach. Thanks to the unwavering support of coaches, teammates, family and friends though, he’s found his strength — and his passion — through seated shot-put. Jia Jun’s journey into track and field started last year with a simple yet unstable homemade shot-put chair, lovingly made by his father, using PVC pipe and zip ties. It met the minimum requirements, but it was difficult to move and lacked the stability needed for real success. Like that chair, his first season on the team was full of trials and learning experiences. With very few seated athletes competing in his division, everything from scheduling to equipment felt experimental. “As a mom, I can always hear people in the stands noting when he is about to compete because he is coming to a starting line in a wheelchair or having a shot-put chair hauled out,” said Jia Jun’s mom, Marie. “People are very interested and usually very supportive.” Despite those first-year challenges, Jia Jun remained optimistic. A turning point came when another seated athlete let him borrow her professionally designed shot-put chair. The difference was immediate and profound. “He threw several feet farther than his existing record, and it was because the chair was properly designed,” Marie said. “We knew then that we needed to find a way for him to get a true shot-put chair!” 🔗 Read the full story to learn how the manufacturing team at HCL® was able to create a more reliable shot-put chair for Jia Jun and propel him toward his state championship dreams! https://lnkd.in/euK3Kf4d

Members of our HR team recently attended the USA TODAY Top Workplaces 2025 National Awards Summit in Las Vegas, where they explored strategies for building strong leaders, sustaining workplace culture and enhancing employee experiences. 🤝 And they won a giant stuffed rubber chicken to add to our collection! The event concluded with an awards ceremony, where our team proudly accepted a Crystal award in honor of our Top Workplace designation! #TopWorkplace #WorkplaceExcellence
