Today is National Healthcare Decisions Day, a day dedicated to encouraging individuals to reflect on and communicate their healthcare choices, particularly regarding end-of-life care. Haven Hospice’s Patient Care Representatives work together with local governments to issue National Healthcare Decisions Day proclamations in April. Alongside fellow panelists and hospice leaders Tony Kudner and Altonia Garrett MBA, MHA, RN, Jen contributed to a meaningful discussion about engaging our healthcare partners and the communities we serve and the future of hospice and palliative care.

🌟 VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION MONTH 🌟 Haven is extra thankful for its furry friends and their humans during Volunteer Appreciation Month. Ziggy, pictured, and his owner Cathy visit Haven patients and families in their homes or assisted living facilites. Cathy is a disabled United States Air Force veteran so Ziggy is uniquely certified as both a service dog and pet therapy dog. He is able to switch between service and therapy requirements depending on what role he is fulfilling at the time. Three cheers for Ziggy and Cathy!

First responders, clinicians, caregivers and educators found Haven's virtual dementia similation to be eye-opening and helpful.
