Kim Murray, a certified medical assistant with Hattiesburg Clinic Neurology – Lincoln Center, fell in love with running almost a decade ago. “My love for running began in late 2016. I wanted to get into better shape. I knew that running would be a great start and is heart healthy. In April 2017, I signed up to run my first 5k. It was all history from there. I kept signing up for running events. Some of the events were every weekend, and I began to make new friends,” Murray said. “To date, I have completed over 400 running events with distances of 5k up to half marathons. I inspire to complete at least one full marathon in my life.” “I enjoy the Hattiesburg Half Marathon because it is a great route,” she continued. “It goes by the Hattiesburg Zoo and through The University of Southern Mississippi. I also enjoy the beautiful, scenic neighborhoods. Of course, I can't leave out the medal. They are fantastic every year. I look forward to completing this year's half and earning my medal.” As title sponsor of the 2025 race, Hattiesburg Clinic is proud to contribute to the collective work of all those involved, continuing our commitment to the community, our patients and everyone who calls the Pine Belt home. Colorectal cancer remains one of the most preventable cancers, yet many cases go undetected due to a lack of routine screenings. Routine screenings help detect precancerous polyps, which can be removed before they develop into cancer, significantly reducing the risk of disease progression. Hattiesburg Clinic Gastroenterology is dedicated to offering patients the most advanced diagnostic and treatment options for gastrointestinal conditions.
