Established in 1979, Hallberg Engineering, Inc. (HEI) is a consulting engineering firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, and technology systems design, building analysis, and commissioning. Mechanical and electrical services include pre-design studies, energy usage simulation, early schematic planning and budgeting, timely design development, thorough construction documents, and comprehensive construction administration along with post-occupancy evaluation. Post-occupancy assistance with commissioning and utility tracking ensure adherence to an owner’s original design intent. HEI has extensive experience in performing energy audits, energy studies, and energy upgrade projects. Current design experience includes projects abiding by the U.S. Green Building Council LEED® certification and MN Sustainable Design Guidelines (B3).

We’re proud to have completed Phase One of the Brooklyn Middle School Renovation Project! This phase focused on energy efficiency and modern learning spaces, including: 🔹 Energy-efficient LED lighting 🔹 HVAC and plumbing upgrades 🔹 A full media center transformation featuring decorative lighting and a state-of-the-art sound system Phase Two kicks off this summer with renovations to the school’s science labs! We recently completed a renovation project at Northview Middle School in Brooklyn Park, MN. The second-floor classrooms and media center were transformed into modern, functional spaces that support an engaging learning environment for students and staff. The project included full classroom remodels, infrastructure upgrades, and a revitalized media center—equipped with updated technology, lighting, and comfort systems. We are proud to have partnered with Wold Architects and Engineers and ICS!

The American Indian Magnet School Addition and Renovation project was completed in 2024, enhancing the school’s learning environment with new and upgraded spaces. This project featured a three-story general learning addition, an administrative office addition, and renovations to existing learning spaces. Additional improvements included a new cafeteria and kitchen, inclusive restrooms, and community gathering spaces. Hallberg Engineering provided MEP services for this project.
