US electronics manufacturing giant Jabil is set to establish a silicon photonics manufacturing facility in Gujarat with an investment of $125 million, marking a significant boost to India's semiconductor ecosystem. The company signed an MoU with the Gujarat government at the IESA Vision Summit to formalize the deal. Jabil's Executive Vice President, Global Business Unit, Matthew Crowley, highlighted the company's decades of expertise in silicon photonics and its vision to leverage India's strong workforce and economic potential. “We believe photonics holds immense opportunity in advanced industries like autonomous vehicles, medical treatment, 5G networks, and AI applications,” Crowley stated. With operations in India since 2003 and over 75,000 employees in the country, Jabil sees India as a key hub for future investments. “India is a destination where a number of customers want to be. It has a great labor force, a strong economy, and a government willing to invest,” Crowley added. The new plant is expected to be operational before the end of 2025, further strengthening India's position in the global semiconductor and electronics industry.

There isn’t a chip we can’t cool. With NVIDIA's #GTC on the tech world’s calendars this week, there is much talk about future power levels needed for liquid cooling. Mikros Technologies and Jabil can not only cool the kilowatts on the GPU roadmaps, but our #Mikromatrix technology has already reliably cooled 15,000 watts in a #singlephase cold plate in the field for years. Since our technology can cool at the highest power levels and with flow rates significantly below the current 1.5 LPM-per-kilowatt standard, we are ready now to scale our cooling technology for the roadmaps of all major chip designers. Product roadmaps are set for three to five years, with chip computing powers exceeding several thousand watts. Effective and efficient thermal management is critical as trained #AI models move into inference, using new data to make predictions and decisions. As these powerful neural networks infer results, compute power gets translated to heat waste. The #liquidcooling system must remove this waste effectively to maintain peak performance and operate efficiently and reliably. Mikros Technologies is ready #today to cool the next generation of chips powering the AI race. Our dedicated engineers and operations team work tirelessly to provide our clients with the most optimized solutions for their highly complex computing systems.
