Global Medical Brigades

I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have spent my spring break in Belize as part of a Global Medical Brigades Working alongside amazing doctors, I took vital signs, connected with the community, and helped promote health education. Beyond medical efforts, our team also contributed to sustainable infrastructure by building a bathroom, ensuring long-term benefits for the community. This experience was not only rewarding but also incredibly insightful. I had the chance to learn firsthand how Belize’s healthcare system operates differently from ours, deepening my understanding of global healthcare challenges and the importance of accessible medical resources. I’m so thankful for this experience, the lessons learned, and the people I met along the way!

It is hard to believe that just 1 year ago I had the most life changing opportunity to assist in setting up clinics in underserved communities in Ghana. Planning this medical brigade challenged me in many ways, but having very skilled and hardworking volunteers right alongside this journey made it the most fulfilling. I am very appreciative of my new Ghana family overseas and lifelong friendship that were garnered from this experience along with harnessing leadership skills and clinical expertise. Thank you Global Medical Brigades for helping our small chapter at FAMU grow to what it is today and for making this experience possible!
