Engage helped host an unforgettable gathering of our partners for the ringing of the closing bell on the New York Stock Exchange floor this week. We hosted the CEOs from several of the startups in our portfolio as well as executives from our corporate partners/investors including ICE, Delta Air Lines, The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, Invesco US, Wellstar Health System, and Chick-fil-A. For me, and for many of the folks that joined us, this was truly a career " bucket-list" experience. The NYSE event was the pinnacle of Engage's AlumniRise program. Our corporate partners spent the last many months reviewing our nearly 100 portfolio startups and helped us select six that they most wanted to "re-engage" with in 2024. Congratulations to Fluree, GlacierGrid, The Mom Project, Plural, Qualytics, and Slip Robotics, and their CEOs, Brian Platz, Manik Suri, Penny Queller, Damola Ogundipe, Gorkem Sevinc, and Christopher Smith. I can't thank the NYSE and their parent (and Engage partner) ICE for hosting this event, including the tours, the trading floor, and private celebration after the closing bell. Big thanks to Joseph Albert, Engage's newest Executive Board member, as well as Matan Eden, Joe Semsar, Alexandra Politeo, Julie Ruvolo, and Tad Nacheff.

🎉 Exciting news! I’m delighted to have represented GlacierGrid in NYC last week as we completed our participation in The Clean Fight climate technology accelerator! Being selected for this program has advanced for our mission to build clean cooling with first-of-its-kind IOT and data science technologies. Through this accelerator, we’ve connected with industry leaders, learned from experienced mentors, and accessed new grant & equity capital to scale GlacierGrid’s impact in creating a cleaner, greener future. As we wrap up the accelerator, I couldn’t be prouder of our team and the progress we’ve made. The support from The Clean Fight has given us valuable resources to accelerate our vision of revolutionizing cooling. We’re more energized than ever to drive positive change in the fight against climate change. Here’s to all the incredible startups and mentors who shared this journey with us! 🌎 💡 🌴 #TheCleanFight #ClimateTech #Sustainability #Innovation #EnergyEfficiency #EnergyTransition Aashika Balaji, Kate Frucher, Semira Rose, Nyla Mabro, Thatcher Bell, Taylor Rowe, Nicholas Ng

I'm headed to Tempe, AZ, to deliver the keynote at Arizona State University's annual Carbon Summit this afternoon — speaking on the urgent need for action and innovation to address today's climate crisis. I’ll be focusing on a critical yet overlooked cause of this crisis: cooling. ❄️ While often ignored, it's not lost on me that cooling is top of mind in Arizona right now. Yesterday, Phoenix broke heat records with 142 days over 100°F and 70+ days over 110°F this year. Maricopa County reported 209 confirmed heat-related deaths, with 427 cases under investigation. Refrigeration & air conditioning are vital for human wellbeing — supporting food & pharmaceutical supply, data centers, and daily comfort. But cooling accounts for nearly 10% of global emissions, driven by energy use, food waste, and refrigerant leaks. As the planet gets hotter, cooling demand is rising and accelerating this destructive feedback loop. Fortunately, solutions exist. Transforming "dumb" and "dirty" cooling systems into smart, grid-interactive equipment can reduce energy use 15-30%, reduce blackouts and save $100+ billion annually by 2030. ⚡ The takeaway? Innovation combined with action can enable us to solve the Cooling Crisis — a winning paradigm for tackling today's broader climate challenge. It’s an honor to speak on such an important topic to hundreds of students at ASU, consistently ranked one of the nation's top sustainability programs. I'm always inspired to be with change-makers committed to building a cleaner & cooler future! 🌎 Thanks for bringing us together and looking forward to the Summit Jason M.
