✨ During Black History Month, we honor the remarkable contributions of Black leaders who have shaped our communities and our nation's history. As we reflect on the legacy of Black history, we greatly esteem ongoing leadership, service, commitment to strengthening our communities, and creation of lasting change. At Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois, we are committed to celebrating Black history this month and commit to celebrating voices beyond Black History Month. Progress, culture, and identity does not have an expiration date, and it is our priority to invest into strengthening our communities and drive progress. To contribute to the growth and success of Black leadership, we are excited to announce an adult series of Black Women Taking the Lead (BWTL). GSNI is hard at work making sure everyone feels that they belong! Community members, alums, and volunteers meet virtually every month as part of our Belonging Team. This team is composed of our Native American Task Force, Hispanic Engagement Task Force, Engaging Black Families Task Force, and LGBTQ+ Task Force.
