    There are a lot of events in the startup ecosystem in the DC/Virginia/Maryland (DMV!) region. But the net is too wide for founders and investors. My experience is that attendance is: • 64% Service Providers & Consultants • 20% startup tourists • 10% future founders • 5% all-in, full-time founders • 0.9% inactive investors • 0.1% active investors Events are a major time investment for founders, even if it's just 3 hours. ✨ What code could you have shipped? ✨ How many customers could you have talked to? We need curated events with similar stage founders and active investors. Last week Caleb Thornton invited me to pitch at their inaugural Seed2Table dinner in this region. They have been running this in Raleigh, NC for awhile and have set their sites on DC. The event was great! I met other ambitious founders and potential, active investors. For a first event, they really delivered. Every conversation was high impact. One hilarious thing is that they ask each of the 3 startups presenting to come up with a custom themed cocktail. Mine was: 🍸 Revenue On the Rocks🍸 🤣 If you aren't using Data Parrot, your revenue is on the rocks! 🤣 Shout out to Andrey Mikhalchuk for the recommendation.

    Deal Health is the "Moby Dick" of CRM. What is Deal Health? It's an automated rating for your sales deals/opportunities to help you predictably forecast and know where to spend your time as a busy Sales Leader or CEO. Imagine if every deal in your pipeline had a health score that could tell you at a glance whether it's thriving, gasping, or going sideways. Many companies have taken a swing at this, but none have succeeded. I've tried them all - those weird little bars, a score of 1-100 (what's the difference between 54 and 58?), or required significant customization that wasn't adaptable. This means sales forecasting still requires the Sales Leaders to read through the activity history, grill the sales person, and spend countless hours in Excel. Well, we quietly launched a major update to our AI three weeks ago, focused on exactly this: assigning a sales deal health score, backed up with detailed analysis. I couldn't believe the results - it speaks like a human, is very accurate, and (most importantly) is completely impartial. Our customers love it and use it all the time. From one of our reviews: "All we had to do was connect Data Parrot to our HubSpot workspace and a few minutes later we had robust analytics on every deal in our pipeline.     We have wrapped up our pre-seed round and I am thrilled to welcome Michael Franz, Eddie Torrejon, and Anders Rawlins to the team as investors. Michael Franz has a mix of startup and large company experience. He has grown a business from $0 to $260M+ in < 4 years, as well as run 6B+ P&Ls at large companies including President at Sprint Business. When I found out Michael is a die-hard Chiefs fan, we nearly reconsidered. Perhaps this is compensation for every time the Bills lose to them in the post-season? Both Eddie and Anders are close friends and are veteran software engineers/leaders. Their decision to place a bet on Data Parrot is a huge signal for us. When I've called on them for help with Data Parrot, they've been quick to provide expert advice and guidance. Love having more builders on the cap table!
