About us
General Infomatics (GI) is a minority owned, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), 8(a) Certified, Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) with offices in McLean, VA and Gaithersburg, MD. We are ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS) Certified. In 2005 Carlos “Tony” Garces founded and incorporated General Infomatics, a service disabled veteran owned small business, as a professional services company through the use of personal investment. One month after opening its doors, GI won its first job at the Defense Information Systems Agency. One year later, he reunited with Patrick Xantus, a business and technology director from his prior days at a technology firm who was providing independent software consulting and contemplating starting his own company. Together, they joined as partners to build a dynamic successful company committed to providing innovative solutions to Federal Government customers. Today, GI is widely recognized as a supplier of practical and innovative solutions to complex problems. In 2008, GI applied for its 8(a) certification and received approval from the Small Business Administration.

Today, we proudly wear purple in support of Purple Up! For Military Kids, recognizing the resilience, strength, and sacrifices of the children of our nation's service members. Military children face unique challenges, including frequent relocations, school transitions, and long separations from loved ones. At General Infomatics, Inc., we honor their courage and adaptability and are committed to supporting military families in every way we can. Let’s take a moment to thank and celebrate these unsung heroes in our communities. 💜 #PurpleUp #MilitaryKids #MilitaryFamily #SupportOurTroops #MilitaryAppreciation #PurpleUpDay

National Hire a Veteran Day was established in 2017 and founded by Dan Caporale, a Marine Corps Veteran and founder of Hiring Our Heroes, a national nonprofit organization. This special day is set aside to raise awareness of civilian employment for transitioning service members and Veterans after their military service, a call to action for those who hire and those who apply. Every day, hundreds of U.S. military personnel leave the service in search of civilian employment. On July 25, National Hire Veteran Day reminds us to consider Veterans to fill open positions, as their skills and training make them ideal candidates for numerous jobs. At General Infomatics, we are grateful to the Veterans who have decided to join our team and bring their expertise, work ethic, teamwork, tenacity and dedication to add value to our tasks and objectives.
