Thanks to the generosity and dedication of Gelson's customers and employees involved in our wildfire fundraising campaign, and with the support of our parent company, PPRM, we were able to raise and donate funds to six incredible partners to help them continue their vital work of rebuilding our community. The organizations include the CD11 Foundation, LACCD Education Fund, California Fire Foundation, World Central Kitchen, Friends in Deed Shelter, and the Animal Wellness Foundation. These groups were on the ground working to help ensure essential resources like housing and meals, provide care for displaced animals, and support those most impacted by the wildfires.

To Our Valued Customers, As our wildfire relief fundraising efforts come to a close, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the generosity and compassion that have defined this response. Because of you—our customers, team members, and partners—we’ve come together in a way that truly embodies the strength of Los Angeles. I'm thrilled to share that our checkstand campaign, together with the support from our parent company (PPRM), raised an impressive $141,474! With Gelson’s matching up to $50,000, we’re contributing a total of $191,474 to organizations providing direct aid to those in need. These funds will be supporting our charity partners, ensuring support for those rebuilding their lives, caring for displaced animals, and providing meals and resources where they’re needed most. Looking ahead, Gelson’s remains committed to supporting our communities—not just in moments of crisis, but every day. We will continue to explore new ways to give back, from expanding our charitable initiatives to deepening our partnerships with organizations that make a lasting impact. Supporting first responders remains a priority, and we will stay engaged in efforts that recognize and assist those who protect and serve our communities. We’re also committed to taking care of our own. As we navigate challenges, we’re ensuring that our employees have opportunities at other locations, reinforcing our dedication to the people who make Gelson’s what it is. Earlier today, we provided free meals for Santa Monica residents and first responders at our Santa Monica store. Making food for others is a simple way of expressing love and support; we hope that these meals help bring comfort, lift spirits, and remind our friends and neighbors that they’re not alone. Special thanks to our vendor partners for their key contributions! ❤️💪

LA, we're here with you every step of the way. We were happy to be able to provide free meals to first responders and members of the Calabasas community at our Calabasas store today. Each plate we serve is a symbol of gratitude, hope, and the strength of community. We will continue to offer support, so stay tuned for more community events across LA in the coming weeks.

Today we attempted to make a small gesture to a community that is loyal to our stores and to the First Responders that continue to protect it tonight. It was great to see so many police and fire teams join us and moving to hear from so many residents that were happy to get to tell their harrowing stories from the past few days.
