April marks the start of County Government Month, and this is one powerful way to kick it off. A proud moment for Franklin County: our work is featured in PM Magazine as a national case study in innovative county management. Not only does our County Administrator Kenneth Wilson grace the cover, but he also authored a feature highlighting how we’re leaning in where it matters: connecting services, centering equity, and showing what local government can look like when it’s built for the people. If you grew up without a parent, you might know this feeling. One thing that you also need to know is that: the story isn’t over. The next thing you need to know is that the Board of Commissioners know that we're experiencing a mental health crisis right now, and we're doing something about it. We want you to join us for our inaugural Soul Talks Empowerment Summit on May 19th. What better way to celebrate Women’s History Month than hosting the March Convos with Crawley at Zora's House? This was not the full representation of all of the women that we have on our senior leadership team, but the presence was certainly felt as nearly a dozen women directors from Franklin County showed up to meet residents. Yesterday, we connected, had real conversations, and got to experience an incredible space dedicated to supporting women. Big shoutout to everybody who came to engage in local politics. This is what leadership looks like. “Such as I Am, I am a precious gift.” - Zora Neale Hurston #WomensHistoryMonth #ConvosWithCrawley #TeamFranklinCounty #FranklinCountyBOC #EveryResidentEveryDay
