As a founding member of GravitHy, we're proud to see today this company reach a key milestone in developing its Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) plant. Steel is the backbone of some of our products, and as a leader in automotive decarbonization, we're excited to drive sustainable steel production alongside GravitHy.
🚀 GravitHy raises €60 million to accelerate the decarbonization of the steel industry! We are excited to announce that we have successfully raised €60 million, including public funding from the French program "Première Usine". This fundraising round attracted prestigious new investors: Advantage Partners, Inc., Ecolab, Marcegaglia, Rio Tinto, Siemens Financial Services, and also following reinvestment from our existing shareholders, InnoEnergy and ENGIE New Ventures. We believe this is a crucial milestone in the development of our company, and a bright light for all the European cleantech ecosystem. 📈Under Jose Noldin’s leadership, with this capital injection we will be able to finance our action plan, targeting a final investment decision after completing project development in 2026. It will also accelerate growth by securing key contracts, completing engineering, obtaining permits, and attracting top talent. 🌟 Sharing our CFO Nicolas Chabannes’ insight: "This fundraising marks a crucial step in securing the necessary financing for the construction of our plant. The interest shown by the market and commitment from our investors demonstrates the relevance of our industrial vision and our ability to attract capital. We are actively continuing our discussions with all the market stakeholders, to reinforce and finalize the financing of the project." 🌟Sharing our Growth Officer Alice Vieillefosse’s insight: “We are committed to driving innovation, fueling low carbon DRI/HBI to our valued customers and forging strategic partnerships to ensure competitive growth” 🏭Our future plant is scheduled to start commercial production in 2029, after an exhaustive commissioning phase and progressive pre-commercial ramp up, creating up to 500 direct jobs with an overall investment of €2.2 billion. Located in Ville de Fos-sur-Mer, it will produce 2 million tons of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) per year, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared to traditional methods. Together with our investors, we are revolutionizing the steel industry and contributing to a more sustainable and decarbonized future. Thank you for the trust and support! 👉Our full press release here for more details: https://lnkd.in/dyZp26we #GravitHy #Fundraising #Decarbonization #GreenIndustry #CO2Killers

62 million tons of e-waste were generated worldwide in 2022. That’s massive. Picture this: 1.55 million trucks filled with discarded computers, smartphones, and TVs. At FORVIA China, our teams decided to take action. They launched an e-waste collection drive across several sites in the country. 🔹 Throughout March, employees are encouraged to drop off their old computers and electronics. In just one week, over 300 devices have already been collected! 🔹 Next, everything is sorted and processed by a certified e-waste recycling company. Functional devices get a second life — refurbished into computers for children’s education. 🔹 If an item can’t be reused, it will be disposed of responsibly, ensuring minimal environmental impact. Small actions, big impact.
