Welcome to the world's only Ford Performance Racing School!
About us
Since opening in 2006, Ford Performance Racing School has provided instruction in high-performance driving to drivers of all levels. In addition to offering traditional driving instruction at retail, the school is home to business and product training programs conducted for Michelin/BFGoodrich, as well as the complimentary programs offered to first owners of new Ford Performance vehicles exclusively. Starting with the Boss Track Attack program in 2012, these programs have expanded to include the ST Octane Academy for Fiesta ST and Focus ST owners, GT500 Track Attack for Mustang Shelby GT500 customers, GT350 Track Attack for Mustang Shelby GT350 customers, RS Adrenaline Academy for owners of Focus RS, Raptor Assault for F-150 Raptor owners, and ST SUV Experience for Edge ST and Explorer ST customers. The Ford Performance Racing School is comprised of regional headquarters in Concord, North Carolina and Tooele, Utah with satellite venues in each region hosting the ST SUV Experience. Along with Ford and Michelin/BFGoodrich, official partners of Ford Performance Racing School include Brembo, Castrol, RECARO, Coats, Stoner Car Care and Product 41.

𝙍𝙤𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙩 𝙇𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙣 -- 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 In the ‘80s if you wanted to go Trans-Am racing there were few – if any – better to build your car, maintain your car, build your engines, and campaign your race program for a season than Jack Roush and Roush Racing. And while Jack and the team focused much of their attention on the corporate Ford effort, there were a few of independent racers that shared space under the Roush Racing team awning. One of these was Finnish racer, Robert Lappalainen. This accomplished Finn and his wife, Marja-Leena, became welcomed members of the Trans-Am paddock in 1990, and his striking JPS-liveried Mustang, inspired by the F1 John Player Specials of Team Lotus, was an instant crowd favorite. Robert scored his first-ever Trans-Am at the US Grand Prix on the streets of Phoenix. (Roush Mustangs also finished third in that race (Max Jones) and fourth (Lyn St. James)). Following his racing career, Robert and Marj-Leena were the organizing force behind Finland's most significant motorsports event to date, the Helsinki Thunder. The events, which took place in the Sörnäinen district of Helsinki and its waterfront from 1995 to 1997, hosted events in the FIA GT Championship, Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM), and International Formula 3000 Championship. #ford #fordhistory #fordperformance #fordperformanceracingschool #fordracing #helsinki #helsinkithunder #knowyourroots #racing #roots #waybackwednesday

𝙇𝙚𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙞𝙜 𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩 (excerpts from The Detroit News, March 30, 1967) “LeMans is the big test. As for aerodynamics, Ferrari and Porsche have done most of Ford’s testing already. Their designs are proven. Ford tested the Mark IV with the new bodywork at Daytona last week and (Jacque) Passino (Ford racing director) left smiling. ‘We set traps at the point of utmost speed on the Daytona track and the Mark IV was clocked in 197 miles an hour and the fastest Mark II at 188 m.p.h. That’s the first time the new car has been faster. I think we’ve found what we were looking for. We’ll experiment some more, of course. And we’ll send one of each car to the LeMans time trials in France later this month.’ “LeMans is the big test. The lead-heavy Mark II’s turned up to 205 m.p.h. on the five-mile-long Mulsanne straightaway last year. Passino says the Mark IV should get up to 220. ‘But we’ll have speed all over the course,’ he explained. ‘We had to have a lighter, faster car. Ferrari has got lighter and faster since last year.’” On a cloudy, warm June 10-11, 1967, weekend in France, in front of an estimated 310,000 spectators, the Ford Mark IV became the only American-built car fielded by an American team and driven by American drivers to win the prestigious 24-hour event. While Bruce McLaren won the pole in his Mark IV with a blistering average speed of over 236 mph, it was the #1 Mark IV driven by Dan Gurney and AJ Foyt that led for the last 22.5 hours and won the event, covering 3,249.6 miles at an average speed of 135.48 mph. For 24 hours. #ford #fordhistory #fordperformance #fordperformanceracingschool #fordracing #knowyourroots #lemans #racing #roots #waybackwednesday
