The Florida Panthers are a National Hockey League (NHL) team based in Sunrise, FL and play their home games out of Amerant Bank Arena. They won their first Stanley Cup Championship in franchise history on June 24, 2024. Awarded a franchise on December 10, 1992, the Panthers officially began play during the 1993-94 season and are owned by Vincent Viola with Matthew Caldwell serving as President & CEO, Bill Zito serving as President, Hockey Operations & General Manager, and Paul Maurice serving as Head Coach. Aleksander Barkov serves as the team's captain, earning the honor ahead of the 2018-19 season. The Panthers compete in the NHL's Atlantic Division out of the Eastern Conference.
