Founder & CEO @ Fiverr (NYSE: FVRR)

Confession time: This all started as a prank by my developers. They secretly hid an Easter egg inside our new Fiverr Go AI assistants. Then someone on Reddit noticed. Then it spread to Discord. Then 4chan. Then X (sorry, Twitter). And suddenly we were in the middle of a global ARG-style treasure hunt. Clues, secret phrases, seller assistants dropping cryptic hints. it was chaos. Beautiful, glorious chaos. They really left me with no choice. So, I did what any CEO would do:  I offered 1 Bitcoin to the first person who solves it (my treat).  And because Fiverr is powered by creators, we’re also giving $5,000 to the seller whose AI assistant holds the final clue. Want to join in? 1. Go to Fiverr and talk to sellers' AI assistants. 2. Say the special opening code words. 3. Find weird things, solve weirder things. 4. Join the tournament. 5. Win a Bitcoin. To my devs: you’re insane. Never change. To the community: keep digging. Let’s see how deep this rabbit hole goes.

If you had $1,000 to start a business today, how would you spend it? Most people would sink it all into building before they ever sell. But that’s a mistake. Here's a smarter way: Sell first, build second. Start by testing the market, not spending your budget. 1️⃣ Lock away $999—because money alone doesn't build a business. In today’s economy, $1,000 won’t magically create success. It’s a cushion, not a strategy. Most businesses fail because they run out of cash. Protect yours until you know there’s demand. 2️⃣ Use $1 to test the market. Craft a compelling offer, show up where your audience is, and see who's ready to buy. No website, no fancy branding, just an idea designed to solve a problem. If you can't sell the idea, building the product won't fix the problem. 3️⃣ Ask for deposits, not compliments—real validation comes from real customers. Instead of asking if they would buy, ask who is willing to put down a deposit today. That's where real validation happens. If someone won't pay even a small amount upfront, they’re not a customer. 4️⃣ If people pay, you've got something. If they don't, you've saved yourself time and money. Pre-selling forces you to refine your offer. If no one bites, the issue isn't money, it's the product. Keep in mind: Your idea is only as valuable as the number of people willing to pay for it. It's not about starting big; it's about starting smart. How would you make your first sale? Drop your strategy in the comments. 🎧 More business-building insights from Mike Michalowicz on our podcast The Signal, hosted by Terry Rice → [Link in the comments]
