FanMilk Ghana, led by Managing Director Lio Parent, paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Association of Ghana Industries Accra (AGI). The engagement reinforced our commitment to upholding the highest manufacturing standards and expanding local sourcing across our value chain. During the discussion, Lionel highlighted FanMilk Ghana’s progress in local raw material sourcing and our commitment to increasing it beyond the current 38% in the coming years, a testament to our dedication to the Danone Impact Journey of thriving with our #people and #communities. Dr. Humphrey, President of AGI, commended this initiative and pledged the AGI’s commitment to supporting FanMilk Ghana in scaling up these efforts. Today, we celebrate our #RecyclingHeroes, who collected almost 3 million wrappers during the 2024 FanMilk School Caravan. Together with our #recycling partners, City Waste Recyclers Limited, these wrappers will be transformed into seedling pots for the agricultural sector, replacing single-use plastics. Additionally, they will be used to create benches for schools, green parks, bus stops, and bus terminals. We had the honor of celebrating International Women’s Day in Nigeria, a day dedicated to recognizing the resilience, strength, and impact of women in driving change. From engaging discussions on 'the need to accelerate action', led by Damilola Okanlawon, to 'discovering oneself', led by Leanne Kiezer, our women employees gained valuable insights on how to grow personally and professionally. We were also excited to host Owoyode Adewunmi and Oluwatosin Olaseinde, who engaged our women on safeguarding their mental health and how to #AccelerateAction through financial stability. FanMilk Ghana has #educated over 90,000 students on proper waste disposal and collected nearly 3 million yoghurt wrappers for #recycling through the recently concluded three-month-long FanMilk School Caravan; an annual Wrapper Collection Challenge held in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES). At the ceremony concluding the 7th edition of the Caravan, Madam Theresa Oppong Mensah, the School Health Education Programme (SHEP) Coordinator, highlighted FanMilk's dedication to promoting good snacking habits, sanitation, and hygiene among school children. She emphasized how this initiative has empowered thousands of young minds with knowledge that will serve them for a lifetime. Winners of the wrapper collection challenge were rewarded with Samsung tablets and other educational materials, while the top three schools received cash prizes to fund #environmental projects of their choice. #FanMilkSchoolCaravan #BringBackthePride
