Please take some time to read this month's employee spotlight and learn more about those who are helping us continue to be the place where hope meets possibility. Christopher Lowe, Family Connections' Talent Management Coordinator ➡️What inspired you to work for Family Connections❓️ CL: Before joining Family Connections, I spent over a decade in Sales and Marketing, most recently working in the fast-paced staffing industry in NYC. While the energy, expanding network, and financial rewards were motivating, I found myself searching for something deeper—work that truly fulfilled me. I wanted to have a greater impact in a community that reflects my own, achieve a healthier work-life balance, and develop other skills I’m passionate about. When I connected with Amanda Leavelle, there was an undeniable synergy. We both saw how my skills and passion aligned with Family Connections’ mission, and it became clear that this was the right move. Joining the FC family has been one of the best decisions of my career. ➡️How long have you worked here❓️ CL: May 2025 will mark two incredible years with Family Connections! ➡️What has been the greatest moment in your career at FC❓️ CL: One of the most impactful moments of my career at Family Connections was attending the 2024 End of Year Celebration, hosted by the Care Committee. Looking around the room, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and gratitude. It was a defining moment—I realized that the fulfillment I had been searching for was here. Reflecting on my one-on-one interactions with so many of those in attendance, I felt a deep connection to our mission and the work we do. It was also a huge win for our HR team—to see, in a tangible way, how our efforts in hiring top talent, fostering a strong culture, and driving retention have paid off. ➡️What do you enjoy most about working here❓️ CL: The trust my team has in me as a contributor to the organization is something I value deeply. We collaborate seamlessly, leveraging each other’s strengths to create something greater than any of us could do alone. I’ve never been part of a corporate team that I enjoy working with as much as I do with our HR department. Every day presents an opportunity to learn, innovate, and challenge ourselves—both personally and professionally. That kind of growth is rare, and I don’t take it for granted. ➡️What are your hopes for the future of Family Connections❓️ CL: I hope to see all of our programs—especially those in critical need of clinicians—staffed at 90% or higher. I also hope that we continue to set the standard for excellence in New Jersey’s social services sector. It would be incredible to see additional grant funding that allows us to increase salaries and... Last week, our Senior Wellness Event provided a safe and supportive space for older adults to learn essential life-saving skills, including basic CPR, burn care, and bleeding control. In addition, participants engaged in gentle chair exercises designed to help reduce stress, ease anxiety, and promote overall physical well-being. 💙✨ By equipping our seniors with these vital skills, we’re empowering them to feel more confident in their ability to care for themselves and others.
