A fully realized diversion system would save Oklahoma millions in taxpayer dollars annually. Our new research finds that by bringing diversion services to scale, Oklahoma could avoid 20,000 jail bookings and 45,000 mental health-related hospitalizations each year, in addition to diverting about 5% of annual 911 calls to trained behavioral health responders. https://bit.ly/42uAh8m

From Incarceration to Empowerment Through Women in Recovery 💪 For years, Oklahoma led the world in female incarceration rates, devastating families and communities. But thanks to programs like Women in Recovery (WIR), that’s starting to change. In this OK State of Mind snippet, Tom Taylor, Chief Development Officer at Family & Children’s Services, explains how WIR is reducing reoffending rates by treating the root causes of addiction and trauma. Instead of sending women back to prison, the program gives them the skills and support to build a different future. 🎧 Watch the full episode to see how Family & Children’s Services is fighting for a better future for Oklahoma families. 💻 Follow us to discover mental health resources and visit our website for more information: fcsok.org 📞 Need support?
