Last month, Erie welcomed Senator Graciela Guzmán to Erie Helpings Hands Health Center in the 20th district. While Sen. Guzman toured the health center, we had the opportunity to share that Erie cares for almost 10,000 patients at Erie Helping Hands. A roundtable of staff also discussed about the importance of #Medicaid, the 340B program, and the Health Benefits of Immigrant Adults Program. Proposed cuts to #Medicaid would severely impact certain populations with frequent need to access healthcare: more than 1 in 4 adults ages 19 - 64 with disabilities and half of children with special healthcare needs rely on Medicaid coverage. This reality and more were discussed when Erie hosted Congressman Brad Schneider (IL - 10th District) at Erie HealthReach Waukegan on Tuesday morning.
