FOUND DECEASED: Charles Veith, 79, (12/25/24) **Veteran** Resident of Houston, Visiting Louisiana for Christmas On Saturday, December 28, 2024, the family of Mr. Charles Veith requested Texas EquuSearch's assistance to help locate their missing loved one. A search was initiated on Sunday, December 29, 2024, near the area where his vehicle was reportedly last seen on camera near W. Esplanade and Power Blvd. A search continued the following day and on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, searchers gathered at Laketown Park to continue search efforts. Just after 8:00 AM, Texas EquuSearch members located a body in the cove, just northeast of the boat ramps, and contacted law enforcement. A search for his vehicle continued to no avail. On January 1, 2025, Texas EquuSearch requested Founder and Executive Director Tim Miller travel to Kenner, Louisiana and initiate a search using side scan sonar on the same body of water where Mr. Veith had been found the previous morning. Within minutes, a vehicle was located just north of the boat ramps and was reported to law enforcement. Throughout the intake process, Texas EquuSearch learned how loved and important Mr. Veith was to so many, including family, friends, and all with whom he came into contact. We extend our condolences and continued prayers to all who know and love Charlie and pray their grief is met with love, kindness, and solace. Texas EquuSearch would like to thank the Kenner Police Department for their support and collaborative efforts. The prompt response by local law enforcement and emergency personnel was admirable. Additionally, we thank the community who assisted and graciously welcomed us in Louisiana. It is with great honor that Texas EquuSearch thanks the search volunteers who assisted in the search and recovery of Mr. Veith. Their relentless determination and compassion were evident from the very beginning until the end. Thank YOU for making Mr. Veith a priority and not giving up – you are the reason Charlie’s loved ones have some answers.

Before we provide specific updates on the ongoing search efforts, Texas EquuSearch would like to extend its deepest gratitude to everyone who worked tirelessly in the three weeks prior to our involvement. The tenacity and dedication demonstrated by law enforcement, search-and-rescue teams, emergency personnel, volunteers, and the Sherman community during those early weeks reflect an extraordinary commitment to finding Clara. Your relentless efforts to search, respond, and provide assistance under challenging circumstances have laid the foundation for all ongoing efforts. We are humbled to follow in the footsteps of so many who have worked with such determination to bring Clara home. To date, Texas EquuSearch has carried out a comprehensive, multi-faceted search effort utilizing a variety of tools and resources and an extensive range of search methods, to thoroughly search the area, including: * Foot searchers – who meticulously worked through assigned debris piles * Excavators – to break down large debris piles, enabling deeper searches in areas of concern * Drones – capturing high-resolution aerial imagery for detailed analysis of the landscape * K9 – various cadaver dog teams to assist with hard-to-reach areas and extensive terrain * Kayak with Side Scan Sonar – to search the waterways over an extensive route * Helicopter – used to survey the surrounding area and fly over creek beds * ATVs and UTVs which allowed searchers to access difficult terrain efficiently * An amphibious water vehicle, SHERP, utilized to reach areas otherwise inaccessible by standard vehicles and gain closer access to deep water holes. Our hearts are with Clara Robinson’s family, friends, teachers, classmates, community and all who know and love her during this incredibly difficult time. We remain committed to leaving no stone unturned. The support and cooperation of the community has been invaluable, and we encourage residents to report any information that may assist in the search. In the future, we will thank individuals and entities in a more specific way. At this time, our focus, time, and energy are on planning and searching for Clara. Please know that we have not forgotten you and that you have made a difference in our search efforts and for our volunteers. Updates on the search will be provided as new information becomes available.
