    This is a first after 25 years in business. I decided to share a bit of our services with my LinkedIn connections. The Employment Law Change Report is a partially redacted version of our full report that we send to our EPL clients as it is updated twice each year. This report is one of thousands of risk management tools that we provide to (ultimately) prevent EPL claims. Clients love this tool because, in just 5 minutes, they can test their knowledge of federal/state employment law changes in the states relevant to their operations. This report coupled with our Employee Handbook Watchdog Report provide EPL insureds (our clients), both large and small, with practical and easy ways to spot gaps in their HR compliance.

    Love the stats in AIG’s report that confirm our day-to-day experience (i.e. 45% of organizations report that exploitation of CVEs was initial attack vector for ransomware). So…. Is external scanning a perfect solution? Some may argue yes because we can identify those organizations at risk of attack due to known CVEs. But the answer is always the same — there’s not a silver bullet. Scanning can and does make a big difference, but it’s just one of many cybersecurity strategies needed to minimize risk. What about small organizations that some argue don’t benefit from scanning because, they contend, nearly all small organizations outsource all their software applications to the cloud with third-party vendors? This argument is flawed because of an incorrect assumption—our experience with scanning thousands of small organizations demonstrates that only a small percentage have outsourced 100% to the cloud and even these organizations still run their own virtual machines, cloud servers, etc. Only a very small percentage of organizations have nothing to scan.
