Earlier this week, the CDC issued Reductions in Force (RIF) notices to staff in its National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Epilepsy Program. This is part of a broader RIF at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, affecting other agencies like the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and the FDA, which also play vital roles for #epilepsy research. The CDC Epilepsy Program is the only national public health initiative focused on epilepsy, providing training in seizure recognition and first aid, conducting research, and implementing self-management programs. It also connects epilepsy specialists with primary care providers in rural areas. Want to share your voice about this and other issues? Become an ENVOY with Epilepsy Foundation New England.
