After 12 years of brilliant service in Non-Emergency Patient Transport, Derek Adams has officially retired – and he’s going to be very much missed by all of us at EMED Group. Derek joined the Shropshire NEPTS contract alongside Gill, James and John – all pictured here from their induction days. Since then, he's been a familiar face across the fleet and operations teams, known for his professionalism, kindness, football banter (especially about Coventry City FC ⚽) and his willingness to go the extra mile. 🗣️ “I’ve really enjoyed my 12 years at NEPTS, especially my time at EMED,” Derek said. “Thanks to everyone who’s supported me – it’s been a real pleasure.” Dan Outram, Operations Manager, summed it up perfectly: 🗨️ “Derek has been a key part of our team – someone who always gave 100%, brought good energy to the day and earned respect across the service. He’s left big shoes to fill.” 💙 Wishing you all the best for your retirement, Derek. You’ve earned it! And yes – the brews and footy chat are always waiting if you fancy a visit. 🌟 Shining Stars of January 🌟 This month, we're giving a huge shoutout to some truly outstanding EMED colleagues whose courage, care and calmness under pressure made a real difference to the lives of others. 👏 Mary McCormack & Hannah Ford – Salisbury Faced with an incredibly emotional moment when a patient sadly passed away en route to hospice, Mary and Hannah showed strength, compassion and true professionalism. Despite being visibly shaken, they continued their shift to ensure other patients weren't left waiting. Just incredible. 💛 👏 Raymond Tomkiss & Natasha East – Shropshire When they spotted a woman in distress on a bridge, Ray and Natasha leapt into action. What heroes. 🙌 👏 Simon Gough & Chloe Hall – Worcester Simon and Chloe came across a road traffic incident involving a mum and her children. They kept everyone safe, took the lead on traffic control and cared for their patient inside the local pub – complete with tea by the fire! 🎉 Happy Retirement Jerry! 🎉 Last week colleagues – both on and off shift – gathered at EMED Group's Stourport base in Worcestershire to wish Jerry Hadley a fantastic retirement! 🚓👮 Jerry’s career journey is nothing short of legendary – he dedicated 30 years to West Midlands Police and some might even remember him from BBC One’s Motorway Cops, Series 3! (We are not going to lie and mentioning no names, some of us were a bit star-struck when we first met him! 😆) 🚑 After retiring from the police, Jerry spent six years with West Midlands Ambulance Service Patient Transport, before joining E-zec (now EMED Patient Care). He’s been with us for five years, managing to stay under the radar from management and control… somehow! 😂 Jerry, you will be hugely missed by everyone at Stourport base, but we hope you enjoy every moment of your well-earned retirement. Thank you for your years of dedication, service and laughs! #HappyRetirement #ThankYouJerry #EMEDTeam #Legend #EMEDGroup #30YearsOfService #FromBlueLightsToAmbulanceLights 🚓➡️🚑 📸 Photos Show: 1️⃣ Jerry Hadley surrounded by his colleagues, all gathered to wish him well in his retirement.
