BEEF is not BEEF is not BEEF...?! I am thrilled to announce a first-of-its-kind collaboration between Edacious, Bionutrient Food Association, and Utah State University, bringing science, agriculture, and technology together to explore the nutrient density of beef—and what drives it. Early results are in, and they’re transformational to the industry: 🥩 Nutritional quality is not fixed—it’s shaped by feed, genetics, environment, and management practices. Not all cows are created equally! 🌱 Grass-fed beef from diverse, polyculture pastures had over 100% more omega-3s, more phytochemical antioxidants, and a healthier fat profile. 🧪 Grain-fed beef had higher levels of some B vitamins and minerals—showing each system has complexity, and nutrient density isn't one-size-fits-all. This work moves us toward a new paradigm—where food quality is measurable, comparable, and transparent. 🔬 Led by Dr. Stephan van Vliet at Utah State, the study used advanced metabolomics to analyze hundreds of compounds in beef. 🧠 Edacious powered the data platform to organize and visualize this complexity—making it actionable for producers, policymakers, and brands. 🌎 The Bionutrient Institute coordinated this community-led effort with soil, forage, beef, and stool samples from farms across the country. 👉 Check out the press release! https://lnkd.in/eU_qXNxp 📊 Explore the Nutrient Density in Beef Dashboard: https://lnkd.in/egs7SCnh

Chief of Staff @ Edacious | Wharton Healthcare MBA | Food is Health

I'm thrilled to share that I've joined Edacious as Chief of Staff and Director of Strategic Initiatives! Edacious is a public benefit company pioneering radical transparency in our food system through nutrition data - we provide lab technology and an intuitive data platform to allow customers to measure, understand, and communicate the nutritional quality of their food. This empowers consumers and businesses alike to make informed decisions for better health and sustainability.   After spending the past few years deeply involved in the #FoodisMedicine and #FoodisHealth space, I'm excited to tackle the broken link between agriculture and human health through transparent data. Edacious is leading the way toward a future where every stage of the food value chain optimizes for nutrient density, not only benefiting human health but also advancing planetary well-being.  🌎 🪴   I'm particularly excited to partner with CEO Eric Smith on cross-functional strategic projects at this critical point in Edacious' growth. Do you believe that #regenerative practices in animal agriculture improve the nutritional quality of meat and animal-based products like yogurt, dairy, cheese and eggs? WE do! 🐄 That's why we have teamed up with Edacious to launch our "Regen Protein Research Project" which explores the impact of different animal production systems on nutritional outcomes. We'll look at animal proteins raised using regenerative and conventional methods and see how they measure up. 🐔 Interested in being part of the project and getting your animal protein products analyzed? We'd love to have you! See below for more details. 💮 The project is designed to achieve the following goals for participants and the NDA: 1. Analyze the nutrient density of animal products for members of the Nutrient Density Alliance. 2. Compare participant products to conventionally produced retail samples. 3. Build a project dashboard for participants to share data that includes all the nutrient density and management data collected through the project. 4. Share anonymized results with the public to raise awareness about the nutrient density in food and increase interest in the work of the NDA. 5. Inform future studies in collaboration with academic partners, either on agriculture or health-related areas of inquiry. 🐷 When animals are treated humanely, pasture raised, #grassfed, and living in concert with nature, they tend to have higher levels of many nutrients like Omega 3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acid, phytosterols, carotenoids and much more. Let's learn together and help improve environmental and human health and ensure happier lives for animals. More info here: https://lnkd.in/gx8rpArd

306 pages for "Exploring Linkages Between Soil Health and Human Health"!!!! We are finally moving beyond the poorly defined, anecdotal experience to objective, science-driven data that inexplicably links these two fundamental areas. The reason these areas have been so difficult to link is the interdisciplinary requirement of the inquiry. Getting biologists, chemists, doctors, nutritionists, and others to see a connective narrative and link the data points together has eluded us for too long. At Edacious, PBC we are building the platform for the data to flow so the linkages become clear and explicit. Our team of biologists, chemists, nutritionists, data scientists, product developers, and engineers work together every day to understand how we can visualize this connectivity and bring this data to life. Onwards!

Taste, nutrition, and a better GHG footprint!! A win for all involved. Edacious, PBC was thrilled to be a partner on this project with Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture. We were able to provide the nutrition data alongside tasting results as evidence to support the development of this work! Great work by Jill Clapperton and Leah Puro. https://lnkd.in/gm2SNQJx
