    Excited to be at Rent Manager headquarters this week! It’s my first time in Cincinnati, and I have to say, Skyline Chili is definitely something you should try at least once. Rent Manager is a smaller but quickly growing property management system that has been organically building for over 30 years. They’re still owned by the original founder and now have over 500 employees, with a beautiful company campus. A true American business success story, one that has stayed true to its culture without giving in to outside corporate control. They were fantastic hosts to me, Dyverse, and all of their Integration Partners that attended this year’s annual Integrations Expo. Dyverse has developed many data integrations with property management systems, but Rent Manager is the only company that hosts an event like this, dedicated to bringing their vendor integration partners together and allowing us to have access to their entire team. I appreciate all the property management companies that allow us to be integration partners, but I sincerely admire how open, welcoming, and supportive Rent Manager is of its vendor partners. If I were starting a property management or rental housing development company, Rent Manager would be at the top of my list because of its flexibility and commitment to an open, connected system.     Multifamily marketing attribution will never be perfect—and that’s okay. Here’s why. The other night, I watched the Martha Stewart documentary on Netflix (highly recommend, by the way), and a quote from early in the film stuck with me: "The question is not if perfection is attainable, but at what cost is that pursuit?" This idea hit home when I thought about marketing attribution in the multifamily space. Some might see my belief—that perfect attribution is unattainable—as defeatist. But hear me out: It’s not about abandoning the pursuit of improvement; it’s about understanding the trade-offs. Perfect answers come with high costs—costs most clients are unwilling or unable to bear. At Dyverse, we’ve worked hard (shoutout to Robert Lee and the amazing team at Hyly!) to develop an attribution methodology that’s robust, reliable, and actionable. It’s not perfect, but it’s effective enough to help clients make smarter, data-driven decisions—and that’s what really matters. The truth is, attribution doesn’t have to be flawless to guide meaningful strategies. Cost-per-lease is a great example. It’s an essential metric for marketing analysis, but it doesn’t need to be perfect to provide valuable insights. This issue isn’t limited to attribution, either. Across marketing and data science, we often hold ourselves to unrealistic standards of perfection—trying to apply the precision of physics to a world that’s far messier. Here’s my take: Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good enough. Let’s focus on educating clients about progress over perfection, leveraging good (but not flawless) data to continuously improve leasing efficiency.
