Celebrating Women’s History Month: Ebby Halliday, a Trailblazer in Real Estate As we close out Women's History Month, we’d like to honor Ebby Halliday, the first woman to own a real estate brokerage. In 1945, Ebby Halliday opened her own real estate firm, Ebby Halliday Realtors, in Dallas, Texas. Her success marked a monumental shift and paved the way for countless women to pursue careers in real estate and leadership roles across all sectors. With her vision, determination, and commitment to excellence, she built a company that has become one of the largest and most respected in Texas. Ebby’s entrepreneurial journey was not without challenges. She overcame societal expectations and professional obstacles to build her business, demonstrating resilience and proving that women could not only compete in – but also lead industries traditionally dominated by men. Beyond her business acumen, Ebby was a passionate advocate for community involvement, philanthropy, and empowering women in the workforce. She passed away at the age of 104 on September 8, 2015. Her values are reflected in the ongoing commitment of her company to support local causes and foster a culture of inclusivity and excellence, and her pioneering spirit left a lasting legacy in the industry. As we celebrate this Women’s History Month, let’s take a moment to honor Ebby Halliday’s incredible contributions to the real estate industry and the lasting mark she made on history. #TRG #WomensHistoryMonth #EbbyHalliday #RealEstatePioneer #WomenInBusiness

Women’s History Month: Honoring Trailblazers and Trendsetters! Dorcas T. Helfant-Browning made history as the first female President of the National Association of REALTORS® in 1992. Her appointment to this role was not only a pivotal moment in the real estate industry but also a powerful symbol of progress for women aspiring to lead. At just 45 years old, Dorcas became one of the youngest presidents in NAR history at the time, showcasing her leadership potential and forward-thinking approach. During her tenure, she took steps to influence national policy, including a key White House meeting with fellow real estate professionals to advocate for tax reforms that would stimulate the #economy and ease the credit crunch affecting commercial and investment properties. Dorcas was also renowned for her insightful wisdom and practical advice. One of her most enduring quotes reflects her deep understanding of the evolving nature of real estate: “It pays to be a little flexible if it lets you find your dream home.” This simple message underscores her belief in the value of adaptability. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we honor Dorcas and other women leaders who’ve paved the way for future generations of women in real estate. #TRG #WomensHistoryMonth #realestate #pioneers #leaders

International Women’s Day honors the achievements of women across all aspects of life – social, economic, cultural, and political – while also advocating for gender #equality. Today, we celebrate the incredible women who continue to break barriers, shatter glass ceilings, and inspire us all with their strength, resilience, and brilliance. From leaders to creators, activists to mothers, every woman’s journey is a story of courage and determination. A special shout-out to the trailblazing women in the real estate industry, whose leadership and impact have helped reshape the field: • Elizabeth J. McCormick – the first woman to earn a real estate license in the United States in 1903. • Corrine Simpson – the first woman to officially join National Association of REALTORS® in 1910. • Barbara Corcoran – Founder of The Corcoran Group, demonstrating that success in real estate is not limited to men. March is Women's History Month! Women's History Month is a time to honor the remarkable contributions women have made to American society, culture, and history. It’s also a moment to reflect on the barriers they’ve shattered and the history they’ve created. We celebrate to recognize the achievements of women across various fields, remembering those who fought tirelessly for gender equity, to acknowledge the accomplishments of women who have made a lasting difference in society, and to create spaces for women to soar and open doors of opportunity. Let’s celebrate and honor the trailblazers who’ve made history, like Rosa Parks, Marie Curie, Maya Angelou, Malala Yousafzai, and Frida Kahlo, among many others. Their legacies continue to inspire generations of women and men to push forward toward equality and empowerment. #TRG #Doma #WomensHistoryMonth #women #womeninhistory #inspiration
