Have you heard about DC Climate Week? During the week of April 28th through May 2nd, @dcclimateweek will aim to establish DC as the nation’s center of climate innovation by providing opportunities to engage with policymakers, fund climate solutions, and showcase cutting-edge technologies. Our very own AIA|DC COTE chapter will host an event at the DAC as part of this initiative! 👏🏼 This event is entitled, “Climate Policy and the Built Environment” and will discuss the power of architecture and the design community. We have a stacked panel for this event and attendees will receive 1.5 HSW|LUs for their attendance. 🎉 . . . The following day @dcclimateweek will host their Urban Development Day at @sycamoreoak. This day is dedicated to reimagining how our cities can lead on climate. With leaders like Illya Azaroff @azaroffillya (incoming AIA National President + COP29 Delegation Chair) and Peter Templeton (President & CEO of @usgbc) sharing their vision, this session promises bold conversations on sustainable design, resilient infrastructure, and smart city innovation. See you there on May 2 for a day of action and inspiration! 💡 🔗 Register via the DAC website or on the DC Climate Week website! #DCCW2025 #UrbanDevelopment #design #GreenBuilding #ResilientCities #DCClimateWeek

Call for Proposals for AIADC's 2025 DesignDC Conference - Green is the New Black. Due May 1! As the world confronts the challenges of climate change and environmental degradation, DC’s architecture and design practitioners continue to evolve. The theme of "Green is the New Black" calls upon innovative solutions to shape the built environment in a way that is sustainable, and forward-thinking. How can architecture lead the way to foster a more resilient city—and planet—during uncertain environmental and socioeconomic times? We invite architects and design professionals across the industry to submit entries for lectures and tours that explore new approaches and existing best practices that highlight responsive design strategies and the integration of green technologies into architecture. Due May 1 visit dcarchcenter.org for more details
