We urge President Trump to liberate the U.S. spirits sector from these tariff disputes by negotiating deals that get us back to fair and reciprocal zero for zero tariffs for spirits products. Fair and reciprocal trade has been the model of success for the U.S. spirits sector for decades. During the time that we had zero for zero tariffs with 51 countries, our industry flourished, benefitting U.S. distillers, farmers and the wider hospitality industry. We need #ToastsNotTariffs. Today DISCUS testified before the #Texas House Licensing & Administrative Procedures Committee today in favor of HB 4077, which would allow spirits #RTDs to be sold in grocery and convenience stores where beer- and wine-based beverages with the same alcohol content are already being sold. #TX consumers should not be forced to make a special trip for these products. Aging #bourbon is only the first step for many barrels. Once emptied, they are shipped internationally to age many spirits like #scotch, #irishwhiskey, #japanesewhisky, and many more. These barrels play a critical role in producing spirits loved worldwide and tariffs on American whiskey will harm those throughout the U.S. spirits sector from distillers, to farmers to barrel makers. Thank you to CBS News for highlighting. Cheers to #ToastsNotTariffs and the rich history of American whiskey and the barrels that help make America's spirit.
Bourbon barrels enjoy second and third lives around the world, where they're used to age other spirits

President Trump announced MORE tariffs on MORE countries. We need YOUR voice now more than ever! More than 85% of U.S. spirits exports go to countries that have eliminated tariffs, and nearly 100% of spirits imported are from those countries. Continued access to global markets creates jobs, supporting rural and urban communities. Sign our petition for #ToastsNotTariffs TODAY : https://bit.ly/3R2KJ1u
As part of the administration’s America First trade policy, we seek POTUS’ leadership to restore fair trade, resulting in reciprocal, tariff-free trade with our key spirits and wine trading partners. These trade disputes continue to unfairly harm our industry, including Canada’s action to take American-made wine and spirits products of their shelves. The distilled spirits and wine sectors stand as a model of mutually beneficial trade, and the livelihoods of those working within them depend heavily on international trade. #ToastsNotTariffs More: https://bit.ly/3XMtUM2

In order to be classified as #rum, the spirit must be made with fermented sugar cane or molasses. Rum distillers also have the chance to distill their spirit in both pot and column stills. Pot stills create a pronounced, characterful spirit and column stills create a light aroma intensity. #DYK to be Puerto Rican #rum, it must first meet the U.S. definition of rum and be distilled and aged in Puerto Rico for at least months in a bonded warehouse. It must be aged in a barrel between 40 and 150 gallons. #DistinctiveSpiritsProducts

#DISCUSMember Jeff Quint, of Cedar Ridge , highlights that if the EU's threat of 50% tariffs on American whiskey go into effect, jobs, local agriculture and centuries of progress & pride in our craft are at stake. In recent years, bourbon, which can only be distilled in America, has become a sensation internally and provides an essential growth market for small distilleries. We need #ToastsNotTariffs.
