  • At Galway Chamber's spring business lunch yesterday, our VP of Operations Adrian Furey, was invited exclusively for a fireside chat, alongside Marie Gavin. Adrian spoke about his career journey, from graduating in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Galway, to his present day overarching mission of "putting a Continuous Glucose Monitor product on every arm that needs it". When asked about #DexcomStadium, Adrian shared his insights on the immense positivity sport can bring to people's lives and local communities, hence the genesis of the relationship with Connacht Rugby. Leaving a legacy on both facilities in the west of Ireland is something we at Dexcom are truly committed to. Sustainability, supporting local businesses and educational institutions, and our site being an extension of Athenry's medieval town, were all highly engaging topics of discussion and a pleasure to listen to. If you would like to be a part of our future, please express your interest here and we will be in touch once a suitable vacancy arises: https://lnkd.in/eak7YrFS Galway Chamber Galway County Council IDA Ireland

I had the pleasure of attending and presenting at the 2025 Early Career Researcher Regional Symposium on Electrochemistry, hosted by Maynooth University. It was an honour to share insights from my career in electrochemistry at Dexcom and to connect with so many talented researchers who are innovating in this field.   I would like to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Eithne Dempsey and the team at Maynooth University for the invitation, and to the Royal Society of Chemistry and International Society of Electrochemistry for supporting such a fantastic event. I’m also incredibly thankful to Dexcom Ireland - Athenry for co-sponsoring this symposium and demonstrating their support for early career researchers in electrochemistry.   The symposium featured outstanding presentations on topics ranging from biosensors to electrocatalysis and electroanalysis. It was inspiring to engage with postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers from across the country, and to see first-hand their impressive contributions to electrochemistry.   Looking forward to continued collaborations and future discussions! • Earlier today, we were delighted to hear bestselling author Ben Aldridge speak to our EMEA employees on mindfulness, resilience and overcoming mental hurdles. Ben's work is inspired by his experience with anxiety, which led him to explore solutions rooted in philosophy.      Here in Athenry, we got together to tune in as a team which provided a great opportunity to discuss everything we learned collectively. Ben even designed some 'challenges' specifically for us, as an incentive to try things outside of our comfort zones and get comfortable being uncomfortable.    This event was organised by our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion team, in partnership with some of our fantastic Employee Resource Groups. We'll share more about these groups very soon!     A huge thank you to Ben for taking the time to speak with us and help set ourselves up to thrive in 2025!
