Desert Regional Medical Center is proud to announce another successful Match Week for our programs in graduate medical education! This summer we will welcome a new incoming class of physician residents, including: 10 in emergency medicine, eight in family medicine, eight in internal medicine; three in general surgery, six transitional year residents, and one fellow in surgical critical care. We are excited to continue the growth of our residency programs, which are building the next generations of physicians to serve the healthcare needs of our communities.

We are proud to announce Desert Regional Medical Center and JFK Memorial Hospital were named to the California Department of Health Care Access and Information’s (HCAI) 2024 Maternity Care Honor Roll! The only hospitals in the Coachella Valley to achieve this distinction in 2024. This award recognizes California hospitals that met or exceeded performance standards for five key maternal health metrics.1 Desert Regional and JFK Memorial also work closely with their physicians on reviewing and improving the hospitals’ maternity health metrics such as C-section rates and outcomes. Today, Desert Regional Medical Center's Level 1 Trauma Center celebrated national recognition from the American College of Surgeons! Hospital leaders thanked doctors, nurses and staff for their hard work preparing for the ACS survey this past fall. In 2023, Riverside County designated the hospital as the Coachella Valley’s only Level 1 Trauma Center and this year received a national verification of that Level 1 status.
