About us
Formerly the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), we are now the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) thanks to 2021-2022 budget legislation. Our Inpatient Mortality Indicators data visualization linked below depicts how the rates for patients dying before being discharged varies substantially across California hospitals. This data product was made using a set of measures developed by the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (#AHRQ) to provide a perspective on hospital quality of care. These findings provide valuable performance benchmarks that hospitals can utilize to improve quality, and patients can use to make informed healthcare decisions. https://lnkd.in/gfNxhTRP
