As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we’d like to recognize the amazing women at Demeine Estates whose expertise and passion drive our success. To end the celebration, we asked our team to share the best career advice they’ve received or given. Here’s what they had to say: Philana Bouvier, President: "Don't wait on anyone to tell you how to do something, be actionable and take control of your own destiny. Surround yourself with genuine people who care and want the absolute best for you, accepting and providing raw feedback is vital in any leadership position. Being fearless and passionate, sticking to your core beliefs is empowering. Listen to your gut instincts, as it will never fail you." Audree Miller, WSET II, Director of Sales Operations: "Always challenge yourself - remaining comfortable means you're not growing. Seek opportunities to expand your knowledge in the many facets of the wine business. Doing so will increase your value and strengthen your network." Kimberly Bowden, Director of Portfolio Development: "Embrace change, even when it's challenging. If you stay true to yourself while keeping an open mind, you'll create opportunities for continuous learning and growth." Kate Noble, Associate Marketing Manager: "Don’t let fear make decisions for you. People can get stuck, either scared of failing or even scared of succeeding, and that stops them from really growing. But both success and failures teach something important. Mistakes are usually just detours to something better - new ideas, opportunities, and lessons you wouldn’t have learned otherwise. Roll with it and see where it takes you." Faith Fulginiti, South Central Regional Manager: "'Be the reason someone believes in the goodness of people' - Karen Salmansohn" Kayla Young, NY/NJ/CT/PA Regional Manager: "The best way to predict the future is to create it." Elana Abt, New York Metro District Manager: "Be the person everyone can rely on. Always show up early, be humble, and be gracious. There are people out there that are going to give you bad advice because they don’t want to see you succeed due to jealousy. Surround yourself with people that lift you up, challenge you, and are genuinely happy for your success." As we move beyond Women’s History Month, we remain inspired by the wisdom and leadership by all of the women on the Demeine Estates team. Their dedication and insight help shape not only our company but the future of the wine industry. Explore our 2025 Portfolio Book to learn more about this incredible team: https://bit.ly/4kGi4wF

As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, we’re turning to the incredible women among our import partners at Demeine Estates to share the most impactful career advice they’ve received or given. These women are leaders, mentors, and innovators, shaping the wine industry with their expertise, passion, and dedication. Estelle Roy, La Chablisienne, Cave Cooperative De Chablis Winemaker: "I advise being rigorous, listening, being curious about the work of the members of different teams to master various subjects and enrich our knowledge, and not being afraid to ‘roll up your sleeves.’ Have a creative spirit without forgetting respect for traditions. The goal is to be able to offer quality wines that will please and arouse emotion in the people who will taste them." Sabina Sassetti, Sassetti Livio, Proprietor: "Forgive and let go, because forgiveness brings you freedom, even if those who hurt you do not deserve your forgiveness." Brigitte Haas, Legras & Haas, Co-founder/Proprietor: "Be careful not to rush ahead or to be impatient. Nature is in charge, and you must bend to its realities." Paola Marengo (CA’ ROMÉ), CA' ROME' Winery Director of Operations: "The best advice I have received in my career is: 'Feel free to be yourself, always believe, don’t be afraid to express your ideas. Do what you love, never stop learning and growing, fuel your passions. If you are passionate about your work, it’s never hard work and motivates you even in difficult times.'" Diva Maddalena Moretti Polegato, Villa Sandi - Famiglia Moretti Polegato Owner & Global Brand Ambassador: "Stay authentic and true to your values. The wine business thrives on authenticity. The 2021 Promiscua Cabernet Sauvignon represents a new era at Burgess one of Napa Valley’s most historic estates. In 2020, following the Glass Fire and under the new ownership of the Lawrence family, the winemaking and vineyard teams began an ambitious project focused on Regenerative and Promiscuous farming in Napa Valley. The Promiscua embodies the next step in Burgess' 60-year legacy. Named after the ancient Roman practice of Agricultura Promiscua, which mimics nature by incorporating a variety of crops throughout the vineyard to create a thriving ecosystem, this signature cuvee comes from the estate’s Quartz Creek, Sorenson’s Vineyard, and Clos Abeille. Delicate yet complex and aromatic, the wine also features a new label that honors Burgess' origins while depicting its new home on Silverado Trail.

To celebrate Women's History Month, we asked our team: What’s the most impactful career advice you’ve ever received or shared? This week, we’re highlighting insights from the incredible women at Lawrence Wine Estates - leaders, innovators, and mentors in the wine industry. Their words inspire us all to grow, lead, and uplift those around us. Brittany Sherwood, Director of Winemaking, Heitz Cellar "One of the most impactful pieces of advice I ever received was the importance to place added emphasis and value on the human element of the job. Truly the most valuable asset are the employees we have on our team and the trust that these relationships are built on. This is now one of the biggest things that I pass on to aspiring managers and leaders. You cannot lead effectively without a strong team behind you that is built on a foundation of trust and it is your job as a manager to foster that environment." Katherine Levy, Director of Marketing, Lawrence Wine Estates: "Be kind and respectful. Actively listen. Coworkers, clients, and partners always remember the way you make them feel." Balkis Johnson, Estate Director, Ink Grade: "Your unique perspective is your strength - this advice has been a guiding principle for me throughout my career and encourages innovation. Thinking outside the box has been the key to my most successful efforts, allowing me to pursue my wildest dreams personally and professionally." Julia Wildt Estate Director, Burgess "‘You didn’t come this far to only come this far,’ has become my mantra. It’s a reminder that growth is continuous, and every challenge is a chance to level up and own the era you're in." Michaela Murphy, Estate Director, Stony Hill Vineyard "Say yes and you’ll figure it out afterwards." - Tina Fey Stay tuned next week as we ask our import partners to share their most impactful career advice.
