Twiist integrates Deka's drug delivery technology with the Loop algorithm, resulting in what Sequel claims to be the first system capable of directly measuring both the volume and flow of insulin administered with each micro-dose. This device is approved for individuals aged six and older who have Type 1 diabetes. The pump, developed by Dean Kamen's Deka Research & Development, is engineered to ensure precise delivery while also notifying users of any potential blockages. Set to launch in Q2 2025! Exciting developments are underway at DEKA, with numerous innovative devices nearing completion. If you are interested in a career that allows you to make a significant impact on global health through groundbreaking medical technology, please reach out to me. I would be pleased to discuss the various positions we are currently looking to fill.

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the Annual TwinFocus Alpine Summit in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We are incredibly grateful to our community of clients, general partners, and friends, whose presence and participation made the week truly memorable. The Summit was a tremendous success, largely due to their enthusiasm and engagement of the attendees. We were honored to welcome Governor Chris Sununu, Dean Kamen and Steve Jang as our special guests, who shared their insights during our evening dinners. We're thrilled that new connections were formed and existing relationships were strengthened. The TwinFocus team is already looking ahead to the 2026 Alpine Summit—stay tuned for more details!

This week at SXSW, an event comprised of conferences and festivals that celebrate the convergence of tech, film, music, education, and culture, FIRST Founder Dean Kamen took the stage as a key speaker on the panel entitled “A Force for the Greater Good: Visionaries Redefining the Future.” Held at the renowned Fast Company Grill, an exclusive event hosted annually by FastCompany at SXSW, and moderated by Stephanie Mehta, CEO and Chief Content Officer of Mansueto Ventures, the panel brought together forward-thinking leaders who are redefining the skills, technologies, and industries that will shape our world. Dean ignited inspiration throughout the #FCGrill by sharing his leadership in robotics and how FIRST equips students with the foundational skills needed to adapt and thrive in any role, driving home an impactful statement: there will be careers in fields that don’t even exist today, and FIRST will still be there to prepare kids and set them up for success.
