    A recent experience with an AI bot: I filed a support ticket with Rippling regarding a benefits question and recieved an immediate response that articulated the problem back to me clearly, provided a 24 hour SLA, and then signed the ticket "Rippling Support AI". 3 hours later a human support agent resolved and closed the ticket for me. Problem solved. This AI -> human handoff was perfect for my use case which required 1) a timely response, and 2) the option to go deeper depending on the answer. Fun to see AI use cases that are making the users life better AND making the employees life better (in this case the support rep)

We're very grateful to be working with the exceptional Wealthsimple team (Laura Lampe, Timur Kalimov, and many more). Among other things, the article discusses the difference between newer Gen AI approaches and the previous generation. Sam Talasila also has some great quotes: “It’s a very typical build versus buy decision. It was really important for us to take the data scientists and the devs that were working on the chatbot and figure out if we can reposition them into [the] business itself.” https://lnkd.in/gxE6mZ9w

    One interesting topic these days is how you continuously improve AI agents once they are live in production. 🌀 Here's one way we approach it at Decagon. As our AI agent has more and more conversations with customers, it can identify areas that get escalated to a human agent or topics where the knowledge/processes are lacking. From there, the next step is to suggest improvements. You can use LLMs to read every conversation, categorize the biggest themes, and then read how the human agents solve these issues to draft new knowledge articles or new procedures for the AI agent to follow. Over time, this feedback loop will continuously improve the AI's ability to answer new questions and handle various situations. LLMs can be used both to power the AI agent itself and to drive improvements. Of course, this example is specific to customer support, but you can easily imagine how similar mechanisms can exist for other AI agents. I predict this will be an increasingly important theme as more AI agents get deployed to production.

  • We worked with OpenAI to test their latest GPT-4o-powered speech-to-text model, and the improvements in transcription accuracy were promising. The tests achieved nearly 30% greater accuracy in noisy environments and across diverse accents— key challenges for voice agents. Integration was also straightforward. We incorporated the new model into Decagon's voice pipeline in just one day with minimal prompt-tuning.     Anyone who knows me well knows that I consider storytelling to be one of the most important skills for PMs and Designers. And my favorite tool for telling stories is Figma Slides. Like many of Figma's products, the idea to build a presentation tool stemmed from observing the way users interacted with our existing products. When we saw users brainstorming and hacking their design files for meetings, we sprinted to launch FigJam. When we saw millions of decks per year being designed and presented via Figma prototypes (without speaker notes), it was a clear case to build Slides. Figma has evolved into a multi-product platform by following the lead of our users. Today, we’re launching Figma Slides out of Beta, and I can’t wait for you to try out the new features. My favorite is object-level animations, because with it, Figma Slides truly becomes the best tool out there for teams that value both collaboration and craft.
