Yesterday, two Dragons players and Dragons mascot, Heater, visited Tecumseh Elementary and Edison Elementary as part of the Dragons MVP Program. Reaching over half a million students in the Miami Valley Area in the past 20 years, This program uses the marketing power of Dayton Dragons Baseball as an educational tool for fourth and fifth grade teachers, helping them reward their students however they see fit! It's Throwback Thursday! Today we are thinking back to Leaha's Home Run for Life, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Leaha was diagnosed with leukemia in 2022. In August of 2023 she was able to get back out on the diamond and play her favorite sport, softball. During her maintenance phase, Leaha came out to a Dragons game to take a celebratory lap around the bases while being cheered on by family, friends, and Dragons fans.
