Finding off-topic content using Vector Embeddings 🔬 Google warns against "... producing lots of content on many different topics in hopes that some of it might perform well in search results" and asks "Does your site have a primary purpose or focus?" Indeed, we've seen many informational sites with "broad" topical focus hit by core updates. 📉 Even authoritative sites like HubSpot have seen huge traffic declines to non-core content. Vector embeddings "measure the relatedness of text strings." SEOs can use embeddings to find related content, internal linking, clustering, etc. Michael King was one of the first to write about this (link in comments.) OpenAI + Screaming Frog make it trivial to retrieve text embeddings from any web crawl. Below is a graph of anomaly detection from one of our site audits (this site has excellent topical focus, btw!) Are you using vector embeddings in your SEO?

Passively-collected behavioral data > Surveys I.E. Don't ask people what they use, watch, read, follow... get their phone/laptop and look at the history. I don't hate surveys. They're great for many kinds of audience and market research. But FAR too many entrepreneurs, execs, and marketers use them totally inappropriately. Here's a good example of just how vastly true usage data differs from survey data.
